Product Description
The clapper is activated by sound sensory and will turn on or off any two appliances plugged into it. The Clapper itself is plugged into your wall. When activated by the sound of your clapping, it will control up to two appliances and turn them on or off, depending on the number of times you clap. This product is perfect for those hard-to-reach switches or for when you don't want to get out of bed to turn off the lamp or television. Plus, The Clapper now includes "clap indication lights" to aid with proper clapping, and a "sensitivity dial" to increase or decrease The Clapper's sensitivity to your unique clap.

It's the clapper!

3/6/2008 - Alan of Texas, USA writes:

I don't know who could say anything bad about the clapper. You know exactly what you're getting when you order it. We've had them at my grandmother's house as long as I can remember, and it works just like it's supposed to. When I was just learning to whistle as a kid, I used to try different "whistles" to get to turn on and off... until an adult noticed and I got in trouble. Okay, it's no longer the newest/best invention, but its never failed me.

Beware!!!!!

1/5/2008 - Wendy of Maine, USA writes:

I bought a Clapper for my daughter for Christmas. Not only was it difficult to get it to work but two weeks later it started to smoke! I don't even want to think about what could have happened if I hadn't been there! The Clapper is a piece of junk and a fire hazard! I would NOT recommend this product for anybody unless you want to burn your house down!

Could be better

12/30/2007 - Eric of Florida, USA writes:

I've had three of these over my lifetime. They are very useful and a great novilty but the quality is terrible. My first one I recieved on Christmas as a child. It broke within six months. I thought it was just a fluke and dished out another 20.00 and that one was dead inside a year. My latest has been going for about a year now, if and when it goes I'll be looking for a similar product with a diffrent brand. Would tell about to friends, but over all a cheap product that definatly needs better quality control

Fire Hazard

12/23/2007 - Tom of California, USA writes:

I bought a clapper for my son. Plugged it into the wall. Plugged in a lamp which uses a low wattage florescent bulb. As soon as contact was made, the clapper shot out a flash of light and the smell of ozone filled the air. I swear I could feel the flash on my face. I unplugged the clapper to find soot on the back of it at both vent holes. Can you say, "house fire"? I don't even want to attempt to try this product again.

Must be the slap

8/27/2007 - Lee of Georgia, USA writes:

I clapped fast, I clapped slow, I clapped once, I clapped lots. I clapped and I clapped, all kinds of ways, and it hardly ever turned my lamp on or off. Dud product, don't waste your money!

Great Gadget

4/12/2007 - Naomi of Maryland, USA writes:

We've used this product for years. My grandchildren love it. When they shout grandma in the right cadence it turns the lights on. It amused them for hours. Other than shouting we found it works perfectly. Two claps turns on one light, three claps the other. It's great for turning off lights at night for people with short arms!!

My kids love this thing

1/23/2007 - Sheila of Minnesota, USA writes:

My twins got this as a gift from my grandma and they absolutely love it and so do I. They leave their light on ALL the time! Now instead of having to trip over everything laying on the floor, all I have to do is stand in the doorway and clap, works every time! We Love It

Unpredictable

9/3/2006 - Todd of Texas, USA writes:

I could only use my Clapper for a short time as I found it would turn my lights on in the middle of the night. If my dog scratched an itch it would activate. If my wife got up from bed, the frame creaking would activate it. Its difficult to get a good night's sleep when you have to clap twice loudly in the middle of the night.

it wirks (Funny Story)

8/28/2006 - Dean of Texas, USA writes:

I have to say this product works. Sometimes too well. When I was younger my friends father was yelling at us and the clapper mistook his voice for clapping and started turning the lights on and off. Needless to say, it turned a serious moment into something hilarious and one we will never forget.

A potentially dangerous product

8/19/2006 - Chris of Louisiana, USA writes:

My brother-in-law gave me one of these as a joke stocking stuffer. It only worked if it was unobstructed by furniture and even then your claps had to be sharp. The dangerous and scary part came when I smelled something burning and realized that The Clapper had shorted. After shutting off the power to the outlet, I had to use a towel to remove it because it was really hot. Happily I was home to remove it but I sometimes wonder what would have happened if I hadn't been there.

Works for me

1/20/2006 - David of California, USA writes:

I bought one of these with the two position plug (clap 2x for one outlet, 3x for the other). My outlet is right behind the headboard for my bed, so it's hard to reach. We have two lamps on either side of the bed, and I plugged them into the Clapper. Now, rather than clap, I found that knocking on the headboard works perfectly, and my wife loves it. Knock 2x for her light, 3x for mine. Perfect, every time. Don't even have to get out of bed :) The one in the living room took a little fiddling with the sensitivity setting, but it works great too. No problem. Love it.

The Clapper is a Dud!!!!!

12/29/2005 - Tisha of Indiana, USA writes:

I purchased this product for my 85 year old Mom who has to use a flashlight in the night. I hooked it up and it is purely obvious to me that this is a piece of junk priced at $19.97. I followed all instructions on the directions and there is simly no way this product does what it claims. I wonder if when the old lady on the commercial clapped her hands...was there someone there who was taking the light plug out of the socket. I cannot believe that people are making money off this product. I am taking it back. My Mom said when she opened her Clapper Christmas present that she heard from many people that this was junk. Well, they were right. I am MAD!!!!!!!
