This product works just fine as I expected. If you read the instructions, watch the video or call the company they will explain with details on how to used the product the proper way. If it is pulling your hair, you are placing too much hair on the hair plate "read the instructions". If it is not trimming any ends, you might have gotten a counterfeit or a copy, if you got the Original Split-Ender Maxi Kit then read the instructions. If you take it to a Professional, OF COURSE IT WILL NOT WORK, how you think they will feel about loosing business over a machine that can trim the ends without having to spend money on gas, time from your busy schedule and having to pay someone to maintain you hair in good condition. I was curious to see why some TV Reviews claim ti did not work, so I called the company and they explained why.... the tested the counterfeit, the copy or simply took it to a Hair Salon "Professional" DAAAAAA' of course they are going to claim it does not work. CONCLUSION: IT IS 2008 if yours doesn't work called the company direct, you might have gotten a copy, a counterfeit, or you just don't want to use your common sense and are not reading the instructions. Look for their phone on the internet, they got like 7 websites AND DON'T SAY "I CAN FIND IT, IT BROKE AND I CAN FIXED, THE COMPANY DOES NOT EXIST, ETC.... If you have one that doesn't work then you should get your money back from the store or supplier that you bought it from, so do your home work!!

I bought my Split-Ender a few months ago and WOW do I love it! I have fairly thick hair that is healthy and shiny but those ends have a tendency to get a little crunchy and dry from blow drying and using a curling iron. I can tell when it's time to use my Spit-Ender. When combing out my wet hair, he comb stops before it reaches the end of my hair. The damaged ends tangle my hair. No worries though, I get out my Split-Ender run it through my blow-dried hair and have perfect silky shiny hair. It makes my hair feel so soft and it stays tangle free for weeks. One suggestion I would make is that it works best when you section your hair in smaller sections and take your time. After you finish using the Spilt-Ender use The Miracle Silk Serum. It's great! It adds a beautiful gloss to your hair and makes it so silky to run your fingers through. You will love this product. The Split-Ender will help you as you grow your hair out. You can achieve very long, healthy, strong and shiny hair! A co-worker of mine with was watching t.v. with her husband when a shampoo commercial came on showing a model who had extremely shiny hair, Her husband said, No one has hair that is that shiny! My co-worker said This girl that I work with does!! She was talking about me! How fun is that!?

We just received our split ender few days ago and came with some instrucctions on a piece of paper out side the box. obviously it looks like there is a big confusion on 2 different products here. The one I purchased it is call Split-Ender Maxi Kit and not the [] that breaks the one shown here on the photo is the old version from the [] brand. Here is what the paper instructions indicates to do and it did work for me and my roommate.... they should have this in every hair salon just like they have hair dryers so people don't have to loose so much length of damaged ends. FOR MOST NOTICABLE RESULTS! 1- Place the small and thin section of your hair to be treated between 2 fingers. 2- While holding that section of hair run your fingers down the hair. Notice how rough the dry, frizzy and split ends feel before Split-Ender treatment. 3- Comb the section of hair free of tangles before treatment. 4- Place the hair on the Split-Ender Special Hair Plate. Select the Directional Switch to ARROW aiming down. 5- Fully press the Pressing Handle to start blade and begin treatment. (Note: The Split-Ender will not start until you fully press the Pressing Handle.) 6- Repeat a total of 3 times per section, for best results. 7- Run your fingers through the treated section of hair, once again, and feel the difference! You hair should feel soft and silky, manageable and healthy. You have removed the dry, damaged and split ends of your hair. Remember that by trimming all the ends, with and without splits ends (by approximately 1/4 inch) is the only way to insure that all the ends are new and healthy, preventing future split ends from coming back. Ends that today are not split are were the split ends of tomorrow will come out at. The Split-Ender will trim them all for you while preserving the healthy length of your hair. I also thought the split ender was a great product. I purchased one, moved and just now got it out of my storage so excited 2 use it and it started screaming. The blades were not spining, I had told my boyfriend about this product... as he now has long hair but instead of showing him and letting him try it he had to look at it and see why it no longer worked. Je said it seems the gears are not hooking up and that it is made out of cheap plastic. I purchased the extended warrenty but since moving don't know where it is, I spent a lot of money on this and wish I could use mine. My boyfriend thinks I shouldn't spend so much again for a product that is a great idea but made cheaply but sold with an expensive price. Very diappointed and heart broken California Girl!

I have being skeptical about as seen on tv infomercials but i decided to take a chance and order the new Split Ender Maxi Kit which is now made with metal pressing handle that is much stronger than the first one from []. I did exactly what the instructions says and after few treatments i immediately notice the difference on my hair. I felt it lot smoother and softer. I guess the Split Ender removed all the dead ends and the split ends cause my hair was very dry and frizzy before. So I can only say that the split ender is very impressive to me. Why someone didn't think about this before? What a great invention... It works great to me and I guess that those who were not happy with it they most got an imitation or a copy cause the original made by Talavera works wonders on my hair. AND!!! My hair was very ruff and badly damaged before. If you have hair damages and split ends I recommend you to try the ORIGINAL Split Ender Maxi Kit. You will love this one!!!!

Before purchasing this products I did my home work... I search & search and finally decided to call the company, some dude in the mail order department took the time to answer every single question I had (poor guy) and I made him guaranteed that if it didn't work I most get my money back, well they guaranteed and when ahead and placed the order. Like he explained over the phone, YOU NEED TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS... my opinion about it it is very simple, Read, Learn & Understand what it has been designed to do, and consider the fact that it is design to trim only the ends NOT TO BUFF YOUR HAIR SHAFT. If you have very long split ends and frizzy hair ends, you can not pretend to get rid off everything in one treatment, common sense says if your damaged hair end is more than half an inch, GUESS WHAT? you will need to trim a little more than the affected or damaged 1/2" in order to have that hair end healthy... I laugh so hard cause my cousin is in beauty school and was skeptical about it but took it to school and found out that the company is working on a PROFESSIONAL VERSION... Now she wants one... If yours doesn't work, you must've gotten a copy or counterfeit, why not call the company and ask them for details and see if you can your money back from where you got it in the first place.

I love the SPLIT ENDER! This thing really have made my hair soft and smooth. I can't believe my hair... i got rid of the split and damaged hair and i still have the same length.... WOW!!! I always had problem with frizzy hair and split ends but since i got the split ender my hair have great body and feels so healthy that i got one for my sisters birthday. she says is the best gift ever. i know she is telling me the truth cause i noticed a different in her hair the first time she used it. We both have the same hair problem as we like outdoor activities, going to the beach:) :) and using flat irons and hair dryers...like every body else RIGHT???? LOL Get one of this babies and you will not regret it. Make sure you get the original though and the new one called split ender maxi kit... as i have read some reviews of people not being happy but they must got the counterfeit or they must be hair stylist...LOL i read in their website "splitender.com"that the counterfeits do not work so no wonder why those people were not happy. also follow the instruction girl and you will see this baby in action... for sure recommended!!!!!! I will always have one w/ a smooth hair. the miracle silk capsules are so awesome...love the smell and silky feeling. Briana

It really does work! REALLY! Be good about switching the directional switch to the proper position though; I wound up with one side of my head looking great and the other looking frizzy and dead. I would also invest in the miracle silk serum this company offers, it is the best product I have ever tried for my flyaways! Overall, this was a great purchase. I would highly reccomend. nikki PS. I was so pleased with the results of my new Split Ender! I was tired of loosing length everytime I went to get my hair "trimmed". I get just the results I want with this product...no split ends and keeping my long hair. It is worth taking the time to use it properly. I was amazed at all of the split ends I found in the chamber...proof that it worked!

It works but it cut of about 50% of my healthy hair, I don't think anybody would want it. Then a few days later, the machine falls apart, and start making noises that sounds like it's going to break in any second. I can almost say you can experience the entire life, within the amount of days that they let you return.....PLEASE PUT YOUR MONEY ON SOMETHING ELSE

I just got the newly refurbished Split-Ender Maxi Kit and I love it. It's easy to use as long as you follow the directions and all the tips, yes it takes time but nothing thats a quick fix works great. Beauty takes time and for doing this for maybe an hour once a month is not bad. I love it!

This item does indicate the amount the blade cuts, which is accurate, but doesnt look like the BEFORE and AFTER pics that they advertise. I have gone through 3 of them becaus the handle keeps breaking off, I didnt use it alot or beat it. I wrote to the company 2 months ago, after a month wrote them back about there lack of customer svc, of course got a reply asking for purchase date and info, which I do not have since I bought the first around 4-5 years ago. After no reponse again, I wrote to them and said forget it, I will consider buying a 4th one. Bottom Line: It does trim the ends as stated in AD.

I purchased the product initially in 2003/2004. I had stopped having my hair trimmed (which I did rarely anyway) because of a hair dresser that decided trimming my ends a four inch hair cut. The Split Ender is made to be disposable, and I know this should not be the case, I’ve brought three of them but it was worth it because they worked. If you use it correctly it will work for you, if you work with it. Keep you purchase receipts and warrantee information you will need it. Don't pull your own hair this is not a curling iron. It works best after a quick blow dry with a flat brush. Use small sections and take your time. If you want long hair and are maintaining it yourself this is the product for you. I have paid my own hair dresser to use it on me and although she still wanted to put those scissors in my head in the beginning she respects that I take charge of my hair and its care. With the Split Ender I can do this without fear of a bad hair cut I never wanted. Its all about the length for me.

I bought my product quite some time ago. I'm in the process of cleaning it so I can donate it to Goodwill. I saw no difference in the way it made my hair look. If you want one, come to the Goodwill store in my neighborhood where you will soon find one really cheap.

This thing is useless, first off, it is made of real cheap plastic, so the first time I used it, it broke. The part that unlocks it broke right off. Second, the blades do not rotate fast enough to cut the split ends, so it just rips the hair out by the roots, and it is impossible to clean, so I say forget about it!! JUNK

I brought this in october, i was so excited wen i saw it, so i brought it, but it doesnt show any results, its take me an hour , n still no results, ill be sticking to my every 6 weeks hair trims at hairdressers, at least ya see results , and i only saw 2 little bits of hair in the chamber, so i recoomed dont waste ya money on this, mabey try the maxi 1,

I bought this product after seeing the infomercial for it. I have been using it for a year now. At first it was a bit hard to use and I did pull some hair, but after a few uses it got easier. I do see hairs in the little catcher compartment. The only downside is that it is a bit loud and your arms do get tired after a while..but I still think it was worth it.

I purchased this product in hopes that it would pay for itself. It took me approximately one hour to do my whole head of hair. I have somewhat thin, past the shoulder length hair. It did take about a 5 passes to actually get the hang of using it. Once you figure out how much hair to put on the plate...it works great. I will definately recommend this to anyone growing their hair out. Mine will pay for itself in no time.
