Just finished cleaning a bathroom floor that hadn't been touched in at least 4 years. It was completely covered with hair spray. The Shark performed a miracle. The floor looks like brand new. I found using 12X12 [] wash cloths worked better than the pads that were supplied with the Shark, because both sides can be used. These were purchased at [] along with the Shark. However, I'd like to see the following improvements: 1- On/off switch. 2- Larger water tank. 3- Electrical cord entry at the handle, rather than the bottom of the unit. -B.E.

I must admit that I never actually saw the infomercial. My mom has the purple Shark and she raved about it so much that I had to have one. Mom has laminate wood flooring throughout most of her house and tile in her kitchen and bathroom. She has not mentioned any problem with streaking or uneven cleaning. I almost called her after using mine for the first time to let her know how great it worked for me. I bought the deluxe version because it came with more pads as well as the little doohickey to steam the carpet. I just used my deluxe steam mop a few minutes ago and I'm totally impressed. It was easy to put together and easy to use. The best part-no bending and wringing! I have vinyl, textured flooring in my kitchen and bathroom so lots of bumps and crevices. I also hadn't mopped in ages and there were a few really bad spots. Normally, I would soak and then scrub the bad spots but I let the Shark sit on the spot for a minute or two and then ran it back and forth over it a few times. I had to repeat this several times on the really bad places but every single spot came right out and I LOVE my newly spotless clean floor. It makes we want to run out and mop something else :-).

I just tried my brand new steam mop for the first time. It worked (not very well) for the first half hour and now no steam is coming out. I used distilled water just like it reccommended. I am very disappointed. What a waste of money!

this product is inferior to all cleaning systems i have used. Don't ever return the product because you will be charged for s&h. They sent me a non working unit and then they replaced it. Now i want to return it and I have to pay for s &h on both units.

I bought this they other day, excited to use it. At first the handle seemed not that sturdy, like you had to push hard to glide over my laminate floors. The first two time it left streaks and I was very disappointed BUT I tried it a third time and the streaks went away plus it glided much easier after pre-rinsing the pad. So my theory is perhaps it had to remover some of the leftover residue from the vinegar and water that I normally clean with and sometimes the wet swifter pads when I am in a hurry. I cleaned the floors again today (4th time) and no streaks. Yeah! I did however return the original and repurchased it from a store that gave me 5 pads for only $4 more dollars than the first store and has a better return policy incase the handle does ever break which if my husband or kids use it is a possibility.

I bought this product in Dec 2007 and, although it does not clean as well as my mop, I kept the unit because it was easier and quicker. It does leave a lot of streaks. I was using it about three weeks ago and the unit split in half. I called customer service and they informed me that it was still under warranty and that I could get an entire new unit for $29.95 plus three pads or I could pay to send the unit which the would repair but I would have to also include a check for 9.95 for return shipping. What a SCAM! It is their defective product and I have to pay for the shipping there and the return shipping. I am sure most people choose the 29.95 option so the company makes additional money on their warranty.

I purchased this product and was pleasantly surprised. I have hardwood floors and it worked very well. A few tips though. Before using, wet mop and wring out. The mop will glide more easily over the floor. If mop starts to get harder to glide take it off and just rinse under water and continue. Dirt rinses out under water easily and results in an even cleaner. I did not experience any streaks myself but I'm sure stopping to rinse the mop periodically if you have a large room to clean will help. My handle never broke but I agree it could be a little sturdier. Overall I would buy this product again as it has made it alot easier to keep my floors clean as it is light and easy to use and my floors do feel clean and smooth after I am done.
So far so good!

Purchased this in a store. So far it works great but the water tank is wat too small. A cup is barely enough to do my 14X14 tile kitchen, in fact I had to stop and refill.

I like the Shark for my floors, but my husband just found another great use for it. He used it to stripp our wallpaper off. He ran it over the wallpaper several times and it came right off. We had rented an industrial steamer one time and it demolished the wallboard, but this was just right. Maybe the company needs to invent one for this purpose or those of you who have one and do not like it....maybe you need to find another use for it.

I used this mop only 3 times so far. The water evaporates fast so I have to keep adding more water. Also today I was mopping under our kitchen table and when i went moved the mop up and down i just had a little pressure added and the the handle (stick) part broke. Not a good thing to buy.
Help me use this product correctly!

I just got this product in on Saturday and tried it for the 1st time last night on my hardwood floors. I thought it cleaned well but it left streaks everywhere. I now have tried again after washing the pads first and using distilled water and it is still leaving streaks. What am I doing wrong? I've got over 1000 square feet of hardwood floors on my 1st floor and I really, really want this product to work. BUT, I need it to NOT leave streaks. Please email me at [] if you have any suggestions on how to make this work better.

According to the host, you need only distilled water and the power of steam to clean your floors with the Euro Shark Steam Mop. Wow, what a way to save on cleaning supplies! Everything looks great, the host is cleaning up spills on carpets, running it on the tile and wood floors with ease and everything is coming clean, as I'm thinking to myself, that sure would be a great addition to my arsenal of cleaning tools, but the price is a bit steep, they come in as they always do on these and lower the cost and offer installment plans with a 60 day free trial! That's it I'm hooked! I called and ordered it, while doing so, it's all automated so you speak to nobody, as you are going thru the prompts the automated operator continues to try and get you to purchase additional items. I decline wanting only what came to get you started, but because I'm one of the First Callers I am getting a bonus worth $29.99 for free. About three weeks later my new Euro Shark Steam Mop arrives! I don't think it was in our home even 30 minutes before I take it out of the box and put the unit together. I'm a bit taken back by the handle, it's very thin and flimsy. Because my house is 80% tile and 20% carpet I start with the tile. We've only been in our new home a few months and there are still a few stains on the tile I can't seem to get out, but that should be no problem with the Euro SharkVac according to the commercial. after all the host was able to get out old stains with ease. NOT! It didn't glide over the floor as shown in the commercial, more like pushing and pulling with great force all the time worried I was going to break the handle because of it's constant bowing and bending with each swipe. I manage to do the kitchen, hallway and dining room then move to the lani. It didn't look any different than it did before I used the Euro SharkVac. infact, it didn't clean it at all. I had to still pull out our old mop and bucket to get the dirt up, and to be honest, it had just been mopped about 4 days prior so it really wasn't that bad in the first place. I then decide, this is my trial period and maybe it would work better on the carpet. again there are a few spots left over the the move in that could use a good scrubbing. this thing had no impact on them what so ever! That's it, I'm sending it back. I call the customer service number listed on the invoice, when I finally get to speak to a CSR I have to convince her that my reason for returning the unit is valid, she then goes into another sales pitch trying to get me to keep the unit. First it's a refund of the initial shipping cost, then it's a refund of the initial shipping cost and I can now have the unit for $35.00 1/3 of the cost. As I keep telling her, no I do not want it. it is only going to sit in my closet accumulating dust she finally gives me the approval for the return. The return requires me to ship the unit back at my own cost with confirmation and insurance. I do this, it's been about 17 days, so I am still waiting for my card to be credited. So, my advice on the Euro Shark Steam Mop is this, You'll clean more with your old Mop and Bucket than this machine. Save you money and time and don't always believe everything you see.
MUCH Better than expected

I wasn't expecting too much, I've got pretty low expectations for most Seen on TV gadgets, but I and my roommate bought this on a whim at a local home store, rationalizing the purchase by using store coupons and splitting the price. I put it together immediately after getting home, only glancing at the instructions briefly after I was halfway through putting it together. It was very easy to assemble, I was a little confused by the pump portion of it, I thought I wasn't inserting it properly, but turned out that was the part that makes it steam when you're using it. First stop was the kitchen. My roommate and I hadn't cleaned the kitchen floor in at least a month, possibly/probably longer (yes, we're ashamed). It wasn't quite as dramatic as I imagine it is shown on TV (I didn't see a commercial for it, I chose this instead of the [] that I had seen an infomercial for, cause it was cheaper), but it was dramatic enough. I could literally see streaks of clean and streaks of dirt, not a solid stripe like you see on tv, but good enough. One or two swipes over an area and it's clean. I felt like I was literally sanitizing my floor. It produced a lot of steam when I used it. I like how it steams when you push it, like when you're just normally mopping, instead of having to push a button or pull a lever or trigger or something to make it steam. I like the gadgety aspect of this product, I was so excited by how well it worked, I went nuts and steamed my whole apartment, even my roommate's room and bathroom (I skipped my own bed and bathrooms though. too lazy to sweep or vacuum). I thought that it was leaving the floor a little sticky for a while, but I figured out that the stickiness was just the part of the floor that was still slightly damp, and my feet that were kind of dirty from walking on the floor that I hadn't yet mopped. Once I washed my feet and dried them, the floor had obviously already dried, and the floor felt perfectly smooth and dry. No sticky, gunky feeling. Now for the things that I think could be improved a little. The first one's really my fault, I should've perused the instructions and the manual before assuming I could use bleach. I hopefully haven't screwed up the microfiber pad, as those things are kind of expensive. I don't think it's damaged, though, I just had sprayed the pad with a bleach/water solution, I didn't dip it in bleach or anything, so I think it's alright, it just would have been nice to have been amply warned (IE a big sign on the package or something) that I shouldn't use bleach with it. The reservoir should be bigger, a cupful isn't enough for more than one room. I think they skimped on that so they could call it lightweight. I would have preferred a heavier appliance if it lasts longer between refills, it's annoying to have to keep refilling it when I'm on a cleaning roll. Also the microfiber pads didn't clean very well in my washing machine, I'll have to try putting them in for a longer cycle to see if I can get them cleaned. The dirt on the pads didn't seem to make a difference when actually mopping, but it's kind of gross to think I'm mopping with a dirty, gray mop pad.

UPDATE: My mom bought this and I tried it. It did not clean nor was there the clean smell that you get when you use a regular mop. Come to find out the company sold her credit card number to a company called [] supposedly out of CT. Her credit card was charge $19.95 for travel coupons that she did not order. She is disabled and not abel to travel so why would she purchase such a product. BUYER BEWARE.

While originally I set out to buy a different steam mop, 2 retailers did not carry the one I thought I wanted in stock. I went to a third retailer and they carried 2 different Shark models. I opted for the higher one (which really wasn't much more than the other and I had a store coupon for 20% off which brought it down to the price of the other). It also included 3 additional pads and a longer cord of 25 feet. I've been cleaning floors for many years and personally like to clean them daily. If you don't they build up and no product is going to keep your floor clean for a whole week. Unless you don't actually live there. LOL. Anyhoo, after securing the right of return should I not be pleased, I set off with my new steam mop home. Directions were not even necessary to put the mop together and was quite impressed with the short time it took to heat up. I especially liked the fact that the pushing motion is what set the steam into work. Pads are great and secure easily just by placing the mop over them while on the floor. Removing pad was just as easy by stepping on it closest to me and lifting the mop. I have a textured ceramic floor in my kitchen with 2 dogs and I have to say that the mop more than met my expectations. Floors are wonderfully clean with no odors and no chemicals. This mop didn't overly steam which can leave floors quite wet and slippery but rather the cloth on the backstroke dried them thoroughly. Lightweight and easy to use I would recommend this the as a viable way to keep your floors clean and chemical free.
Better off with my $10.00 mop

I was so excited to get home and use this mop. I was very very disappointed. I am better off using the $10.00 mop that I bought at the store. I still had to get down on my hands and knees and scrub all the cracks and crevices in my floor. I thought this would eliminate that, but boy was I wrong.

I just purchased the Shark after several months of debating and I'm so glad I did. I have vinyl with a lot of texture (bumps & crevices)in kitchen and bath and tile in my entry and within 15 min. I can have them all clean and sanitized (not sticky)! I have cats so putting chemicals on my floors is out of the question. I would absolutly recommend this mop!!

Great!! But they get you by not being able to purchase extra mop pads in stores. Two pads are not enough for large house with all hardwood and ceramic tile. and they are not cheap.

My biggest complaint is it didn't clean well. After use, I saw why, only about 1/5 of the pad actually met the floor. I am (5'9"+) and unless I bent over uncomfortably to shove it around, it didn't connect well with the floor! I worked up a sweat trying, but was very dissappointed with the results. It has gone directly back to the store for a refund.

I had to buy one just to see how a product could have such a wide disparity of comments. Seems you either hate it or love it. I fall into the later category. I just used it for the first time today. Definately could use a larger reservoir. It is light-weight so it's easy to take up and down the stairs. Either the cord has been modified or the other people who had problems with the cord getting in the way didn't see the cord clip that keeps the cord clear of the mop head. I had no idea my floors were so dirty until I tried this mop. I must have cleaned my kitchen floor 3 or 4 times before the pad wasn't disgustingly brown. Ugh! I'm wondering if the folks whose floor were sticky after using this mop were just seeing the results of years of floor polish/cleaner being lifted up by the steam. Maybe the floor needs to be cleaned many times to get the old stuff up. I thought I'd save some money and just wash out the pads by hand when they got dirty. I wish I would have gotten 2 more pads. 4 would have been nice. All in all a great mop. Looking forward to throwing my traditional one away!
