I purchased 2 deluxe safety beeps or at least I thought I did. There is no way to actually know if you purchased the standard version or the deluxe version. The packaging does not say either standard or deluxe. Could it be there is no such thing as a deluxe model? I wonder.

I unfortunately bought 2 beeps. It a piece of junk worth may be $2. It works not only when car backing but also all the time when car is in the sun. There is no way to complain or return thing for refund. People, stay away from this fraudulently advertised product. I will notify local BBB.

I saw the Infomercial and ordered a Safety Beep to install on my minivan. I upgraded to the 'louder' unit at a higher cost. It arrived in couple of weeks and was easy to install by just cleaning the backup light lens, peeling the tape and mounting. A few things I discovered: 1) There is no easy way to replace the battery once it is depleted. That means you either cut the plastic body open or throw it away and buy a new one. Seems like a real design flaw. 2) Direct sunlight can cause the Safety Beep to false activate which can can unnecessary beeping and will deplete the battery sooner. 3) The beep while distinctive is not very loud, much less than a horn. Any loud background noise can down it out. 4) It does not seem to work consistently in very cold or wet weather. In fact I thought it was defective as it did not sound during a recent snow storm but started working again when the temperatures moderated. Having said all of that, and considering the relatively low cost, I feel the Safety Beep is a worthwhile addition especially on pickups, minivans, motorhomes and SUVs.
