Product Description
The outer layer of the 'Ove' Glove is made from DuPont NOMEX® and KEVLAR® - the same materials used in firefighter's gloves. Combined, these two materials make the 'Ove' Glove fire and heat resistant, with- standing extreme temperatures up to 480° F. The thermal properties of the 'Ove' Glove's outer layer dramatically extend the time a person can handle a hot object. The tough, heat resistant exterior of the glove forms a thermal isolation barrier, so the interior layer stays cooler longer. Even when exposed to an open flame, the outer layer of the 'Ove' Glove will not catch fire or melt.

Decent product

6/11/2008 - Ryan of Saskatchewan, Canada writes:

Got this product for Christmas 2 or 3 years ago. I've used it quite a bit for the oven and it has been working fine, but just last night I took a cookie sheet out and I was holding it with the Ove Glove while I took the cookies off and my hand got so hot I had to quickly find a place to put the cookie sheet down. I guess I have never held anything hot for an extended time with it before. Great for quickly removing hot pans, etc. but not so much for extended holding of them.

Works as described

5/18/2008 - Bill of NM, USA writes:

I bought these from a store, not by phone, and found they work exactly as advertised. I can hold a 450-degree cookie sheet with these for minutes, and the individual fingers give great dexterity. That said, you have to avoid getting them wet, or crusted with food like melted cheese, or they lose all insulating ability. They wash in normal washing machines just fine, though. I buy them for people as gifts, and everyone likes them.

it's alright

5/3/2008 - Brenda of pa, usa writes:

Great for the oven, terrible for open flames. I would not use it for campfires, fireplaces, etc. They are not fireproof. I had a hot ash on mine, and it did burn, and the glove started to unravel like a wool sweater. Buy them only for oven use.

okay

4/16/2008 - Brenda of pa, usa writes:

This product is just okay, I heat my home with a wood stove in the winter time, so I tried them out, they are not fire resistent. They will not burn, but they will smolder, and get a hole in them, if near an open flame, mine had an amber fall on one of them, and it smoldered, and the threads came loose, and unraveled like a wool sweater. I never used them for the oven or grilling, so I am not sure if they are appropriate for that, but I definitely would not recommend them for anything with an open flame, I use welding gloves now, and I have had no problem.

Ove Glove

This is great for the bar b que. Have used it for two years. Has become rather stained and unsightly. Excellent at protecting hands from dry heat.

Love the Ove

2/7/2008 - Sam of Texas, USA writes:

I've had the Ove Glove for about 5 years - mine is the "previous model" without the silicone grips. Although I do use it in the kitchen for what it was intended, it has turned out to be very useful for handling other jobs that might expose your hands to 400-500 degrees. For example, I use a heat gun to heat porcelain items (to remove glue) - I can hold the item with the Ove and blow the heat directly towards the object in my hand. My hand remains comfortable. For kitchen uses, I've regularly pulled hot pans out of the oven and never noticed a thing. With a cloth potholder, I'd have a limited time before I'd have to put the pan down; with the Ove, I can take my time. And I never have to worry that I've missed a fingertip before it comes in contact with hot metal. The Ove is a little bulkier than I pictured, but it's not a big deal. This is a useful item and not your typical infomercial "works ONLY on TV" product. It will always be a staple in my kitchen.

Works Great!

1/28/2008 - Linda of Virginia, USA writes:

These are awesome! I have had them for a few years now, first the plain ones then the ones with silicone "grips" on them. Both are great. They can get kind of dirty but I washed them in the washing machine and dried them and they were fine. They can also be a bit bulky so if the pot lid has a small handle it can be a bit awkward. But I use them for the grill and the oven and it works well. The only thing is, don't use them if they are wet! The packaging clearly states that and it is true! The heat goes right through it when they are wet.

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!!

1/18/2008 - Joe of Ohio, USA writes:

This product is absolutely wonderful. I have the one that was the silicone grip and I could not be happier. It is perfect for removing a hot pizza stone from the oven and great for removing hot dishes from the microwave. So much better than your average pot holder. Highly recommended

Good product that does what it promises

1/1/2008 - Eric of Oregon, USA writes:

I worked in a food service place and we had one of these for handling hot items. It is probably the best hot surface handler I've ever used. It doesn't burn you even after handling hot items for a long time. The only bad part of this product is that the material is fairly porous, so if you get any hot water on the glove then it will come right through and burn you. Other than that it is a great product.

Best As-Seen-On-TV I've ever used!

6/9/2007 - Camille of New York, USA writes:

Since I have fibromyalgia, I'm clumsey enough as it is. Pot holders, oven mitts - all the others made me feel like I was always on the verge of dropping the hot dish. Never with the Ove Glove! I can hold hot dishes securely without any fear of burning or dropping. I love that it can fit on either hand, too. Gonna have to get a second one!

STOP WORKING

This product was good for the first three or four tries and then it totally stopped working. It caused two of my fingers to get burned.

Great Product

I like my Ove Gloves very much. The only change I would make is my package said not to dry in the dryer. I use the Ove Gloves daily.
