Alright here's the deal, the food isn't great BUT some is okay. I found the worst to be the breakfast meals which tasted horrible! And why? If [] can make a breakfast bar that is low fat and tastes great why can't they? Even their muffins are horrible! Ive had 100 calorie muffin packs that tasted terrific compared to nutrisystems! Powdered eggs? I mean come on! Yuck! That's the worst part. Lunches are not bad, not great. To be honest just get yourself some [] soup cans, they taste better and have more flavor! Dinners are not that bad either but something worries me about eating food like meatloaf from my cabinets everyday. It really all depends on what items you order some are quite tasty while others will make you vomit! Hint those [] or [] frozen dinners are much better and if you can get them on sale come out to be less expensive! If you are serious about it I would suggest u get the favorites order and see what u like. The funny part is you will find the best part are the snacks! They are quite good and have huge varities, chocolates, cookies are all great BUT you can always find 100 calorie snack packs which are tastier and have less calories! HA! Now to the good stuff. OKAY it works. kinda. I lost about 25 pounds in 2 months with regular exercise but at what cost? I ended up throwing out about a week's worth of food because there only so much of it you can eat! Like I said the food is okay at best and there are so many alternatives BUT its a lot cheaper (about $319 for 5 weeks of food with auto delivery) than other plans that deliver fresh food to your house every day. If you can put up with the food its a nice starter to get that diet program working but then you really need to move on. It can teach you about portion control and eating habits. Overall I would really try to aviod this one. I would have given this product a 3 because it CAN work but with all its problems it desrves a 2!

I tried Nutrisystem, but it didn't work at all (for me). After 2 weeks, I didn't lose very much weight and my stomach was upset about 20 minutes after each meal. My doctor told me the preservatives and sugar substitutes in the food were causing these problems. I returned remaining product without hassle.

I wanted a diet food product that was portioned and tasty. I am the absolute worse for eating on the run. This product looked like the right solution for me. Too bad I couldn't choke down most of the menu items. The worst dishes have meat in them (or what Nutrisystem tries to pass off with meat). Soy is substituted everywhere. The pasty texture of the food is the absolute worse. I broke down and bought the month plus a week free. I have only been on it a week and so far I have thrown out 8 of the dinners and 4 of the lunch items because I couldn't force myself to choke the crap down. I opened the chicken breast package to find that this wasn't meat at all - it was some God awful soy tofu processed smelly piece of rubber. This piece of chicken stank up my whole house. I had to burn a strong scented candle for 3 hours to mask the horrible smell. Do yourself a favour and buy regular food and just portion them better. I am doing that and using a calorie counting program and have been achieving the same results. I sure wish I read real reviews and not the hype before going ahead and buying this crap.

I started the nutrisystems program about 18 months ago. I followed it religiously for three months and then gradually worked my way off over the next 9 months. I am sixty years old and losing weight felt overwhelming. Using the principles I learned with the program I have lost 85 pounds and I have kept them off. Even more remarkable, I was able to feed the rest of my household, my husband and daughter and her husband who are not dieting and still lost weight. It is a program that can truely work if you are motivated. In other words, it works if you work it. One thing people may not know it that if you use the food more slowly than planned you can put off your next shipment until you want it. An added plus--my grandchildren love the little bears I collected, one for each ten pounds I lost.

It worked for me and I easily lost my extra 15 pounds within two months. At first I was very skeptic - I didn’t believe it would work, but I was willing to try anything reasonable to loose my 15 extra pounds. I read the material, signed into their website, and followed the program EXACTLY. I found the program easy to follow. it’s a change of eating habits and lifestyle, plus it has a support system component. Now I feel that I have been empowered with the knowledge to continue my life at my present weight (with or without continuing purchasing their food products).

I was excited about this diet but it just didn*t work for me. The food isn*t bad but it is expensive and you still need to go to the grocery store and buy other things. It will help you lose weight if you stick to it and also exercise. Of course you don*t need to follow any diet if you eat healthy and exercise!!!

I was very excited about this glycemic advantage diet which made scientific sense. Also, since I eat out mostly, the low cost of all meals for a whole month was attractive. In principle, it is a great way to lose weight. However, the foods that are delivered are only a portion of what one needs to eat. In addition, the dieter must find own protein for the meals (the most expensive part of any diet) as well as vegetables. The foods don't taste good. Some products (the ones that are dry and require addition of water) are inedible. Others (the sweet ones) are ok, but are the the sweet taste doesn't adequately compensate for the osmotic diarrhea that follows. The non-dry microwavable foods (e.g.pastas) taste better than anything else, but are mostly very salty. Overall, it is a difficult diet to follow with a lot of food preparation in addition to what they send you. The foods that they do send taste bad. I couldn't stay on this diet. I lost a couple of pounds the first few days, but was probably due to the diarrhea.

I went on this program for about 4 months. And though I did lose weight, I had constant diarrhea, bloating and gas. The sugar substitutes they use were very hard on my stomach. I had to discontinue the program and imediately gained back the weight.

This produsct has some good points and some bad. It ia very structured and easy to follow. The food comes pre packed, a littel shopping for milk and fruit and you are set. I lost 72 pounds in 6 months. Sounds great. But you can't eat their food forever (it's not the greatest food) and you really don't get a good idea how to eat correctly. I even went to meetings and weighed in at a center. If you really need to loose some weight fast this will work, but be very careful when you go back to regular food, or you'll gain it all back and more.

I purchased Nutri Systems on an auto-ship program with the intent this was going to work. After 6 weeks, I stopped and threw out the rest of the food. While the portion control aspect was great, the overly processed food taste, not so much. I couldn't bring myself to eat it anymore. Weight loss was a few pounds - and the cost, too high.

My spouce and I both tried this - we lost a few pounds at first, but then gained it all right back. Pro's: Easy - No weighing or measuring. food comes pre-packaged and portion controlled. Delivered right to your door. Modify your order easily On line. Con's: Cost- A bit expensive for what you get. Not Complete diet - You still need to purchase your own dairy and fresh fruits and veggies. Food Quality: This is very subjective. Food is highly proccessed. We liked some items (others were terrible). You can select your own food. We got sick of eating the same old thing, and strayed from the program. It works if you can stick to it.

Nutrisystem is one of those programs that cons you into doing something you could've done on your own. You buy their "food packages" and you have to supplement them yourself with fruits, veggies, and dairy. Hmm... let's save the middle man and just get EVERYTHING at the store at once... This reminds me of those "miracle diet pill" commericals, you read the fine print at the bottom that says, "Must be supplemented by diet and exercise". News Flash: All you need is diet and exercise... not a $50 bottle of pills to go along with it. Don't let these companies fool you into doing something you are quite capable of doing yourself.

My wife and I have been on nutrisytem diet for 3 weeks now, although its expensive for 2 people I find the cost well worth it.we both have lost 12 lbs. so far, the portions are small so we have fruit and veggies also. I pick out my own meals on the plan and would recommend that or you will get food sent that you may not like. I tried many diets but nutrisystem does not feel like a diet because I am always eating food or snack every 3 hours. I would recommend this plan for anyone that wants to lose weight.

1/14/2008 - Nani of Hawaii, USA writes:
True, you have to supplement the meals with salad and vegetables; however, because it so carefully controls the portions, it will help you to establish new healthy eating habits. The meals are actually quite good, and my son has lost 12 pounds in two weeks. We say it is a worthwhile program!

12/31/2007 - Frank of California, USA writes:
One of the biggest strikes against nutrisystem, is the fact that you have to add your own fruits vegetables, dairy, and to the food you're provided with. In fact, the vast majority of the food you'll eat while on the diet, you have to buy yourself at the supermarket. There is no magic bullet behind the "nutrisystem diet". It's simple portion control and calorie counting. Each "entree" weighs in at about 100 calories. All in all, what you end up getting for your $300 is a few pounds of food -- the most expensive price per pound you'll ever pay for such low quality food. You could by an equivalent weight of imported lobster for less. You could easily duplicate the nutrisystem diet for yourself at home for 1/10th the price.

I thought this would be a good way to help me eat better. I assumed that the meals provided would be complete, balanced, healthful meals. Turns out you have to add all sorts of food. By the time I added the lean meat, fruit, vegetable and whatever else, I had a complete meal without the entrée they provided. they claim that their program helps teach you to eat healthier, but where in the really real world are you going to find blueberry muffins with 7 grams protein, 8 grams fiber, and only 1.5 grams fat? plus they were gross. the food they provided gave me terrible headaches.

12/16/2007 - Trina of Maine, USA writes:
My husband and I got nutrisystem last year. It was very expensive and we were fooled to think that all the food in the diet was provided. Also, my husband is a lot bigger than me and his portions were exactly the same, although you have to supplement it with MORE food that you have to buy separately. The most important part of this review, the food was absolutely vile. And the food you order is not necessarily the food you get they substitute your meat entrees for tofu ones.

I've been on it for about 5 months and it ends up costing me about $10 a day which isn't too bad for NYC eating out would be more per day anyway, and the convenience of being able to take it to work without having to go out and buy lunch is great, although I do buy a salad every day or bring one from home. The food is good, some great, some sucks, but it is nice to choose not to get something once you've tried it. The biggest problem with diets like these is you aren't going to be on them forever! It is half as expensive as Zone Chefs and doesn't need to be frozen which is very convenient! I recommend this diet because it worked for me.

Nutri/System really works and while not all of the food is great I'd say about 80% is pretty good. Basically I would avoid any meal that required you to add hot water. I lost 25 lbs. in June and July of 2007. It's now November 2007 and I have kept the weight off and modified my eating habits.

It is fantastic and the food is surprisingly good. You just have to be creative and shake things up. I had been feeling really down on my looks so I saved enough money to try nutrisystem. First month and I've lost 15 pounds. I definately reccomend this product. They rock.
