A little overrated and misleading

8/4/2007 - Cole of Minnesota, USA writes:

I bought this and the technique he teaches seems like it works but I call it misleading in the sense that you are going to be asked to work with the same book and chapter for basically the entire lesson. That is to say you will be asked to pick a book that you like and will practice on the same passage or chapter over and over. At the end it's portrayed on the infomercial and in the materials, that you will accomplish results in no time when in reality you've gained comprehension naturally by re-reading and familiar enough with the text that you can skim through it faster than when you started. I didn't feel completely jipped as he does give you some ways to speed read but the "miraculous results" guaranteed in no time seems to me come much more from repetition of the same passage than actual technique used.

Decent system, not ground breaking

5/15/2007 - Andrew of New York, USA writes:

If you don't know anything about speed reading, this is a good introduction to the subject with lots of excerizes and good tips. You can get through the series in one long sitting, or break it up. It also comes with a taste of the MegaMemory series, which uses something like a combination of standard techniques and some interesting tips. If you have already tried learning speed reading or read another book on the subject, etc., you may get some insights from the program, but again, nothing earth shattering to those familiar with speed reading.
