right string, wrong yo yo

DO NOT USE ALL CAPS. I got my machine ready to dice tomatoes and couldn't find the clear plastic cup to receive the tomatoes, so I tried using a mug and a glass to no avail. The tomatoes splattered all over the place and clean-up was tedious. Bottom line: the basic machine is WORTHLESS without the clear plastic receptacle.

Blades bent

10/7/2007 - Garry of New Jersey, USA writes:

I thought I was going to love this product. I realy wanter the dicing feature most of all, however, it emediately broke on our first try. Chopping peppers, the top plate of pressing cube array became empacted with pepper residue and managed to bend the blades. Now I use the "Progressive Onion Chopper" which does the same thing with zero counter-space investment and the blades have yet to bend. Let me say that if the instuctions warned about keeping the top plate frequently cleared we probably still would be using the Le Presse. (too bad)

Not worth it

2/19/2006 - Steve of Nevada, USA writes:

This product was not engineered very well the blades on the cutters broke. I am glad I was not injured. It is a good idea but poorly executed. I would not recommend this product.

Mixed Feelings

1/17/2006 - Alice of Arizona, USA writes:

The Le Presse did work for me. I loved it for making my pico de gallo. But, it is big and bulky, difficult to store and clean and since it's made of plastic, it broke in an unfixable area. Glad it was a gift and I didn't pay for it.

Not That Bad

1/9/2006 - Kerry of Arizona, USA writes:

We have one of these that we got free with another offer. While it is big and bulky, it works and does the job although we mainly use it for apple and pear coring.

Don't bother

11/19/2005 - Pam of Washington, USA writes:

I purchased the item and it was big and bulky and just wasn't worth taking up that much space in my kitchen for the little I used it. It went back.

Complete Waste of Money

10/16/2005 - Dana of Indiana, USA writes:

I write cookbooks for a living, and therefore cook a *lot*.   Saw the Le Presse, and my husband said it looked similar to a machine they'd used to cut french fries at a restaurant he'd worked at as a kid.  It looked like it would really speed up my work.  So I found one at [] and ordered it. The sucker doesn't cut a damned thing.  Not a thing.  Most of the blades aren't even sharpened (though the few that are sharpened are sharp enough to be dangerous to handle -- which is better, really.)  If you press on the handle harder to try to force a fruit or vegetable through those unsharpened blades, the gears start to go.Just a total piece of junk.
