Ours worked great for a long while, but one day we used it and then couldn't get it apart to remove the pulp and clean it. The top was completely stuck for some reason. I wrote to Salton telling them what happened and asking them where I should have it repaired. Never heard from them. Had to throw it away. A product is only as good as it's repair support!

Have had my Juiceman II for several years...I did have to replace the basket/blade...which was under warranty and was replaced immediately by the company, NO problem. I have not used other juicers and have seen no reason to do so. I compost the pulp...but have used it a couple times in carrot cakes etc. Overall, my Juiceman II has stood the test of time and I would reccomend it to anyone. The ONE shortcoming I have noticed is the propensity of the plastic to stain from certain juices over time....stainless steel appears to be an improvement Jack LaLane has in his product.

Experiencing fresh juiced veggies and fruit in CA and doing a 'bit' of research, I bought one. Two major problems besides the extensive clean-up, you need a LOT of produce which proved expensive int he long run. Secondly I was disappointed in the waste of the fiber, and was NOT interested into trying to turn it into other food products shich you have to do right away of freeze it. So you drink the juices, which are delicious but very high in sugar with fruit especially, and then you have to take a fiber pill? I don't think so.

I have read some of the other reviews. We take a plastic grocery bag and put it in the pulp container. I guess you can use the pulp, but we don't. It is very easy to clean it that way. We have had this for years, and it still works like the day we got it. I am just looking for some new recipes since I can't find the book that came with it.

If you can't get your hands on a Jack LaLane Power Juicer, try the Juier II. I've had my original Juicer I for well over 15 years, and love it! I will buy the Juicer III if it ever comes out!

Overall, the juiceman is a very good appliance. I've had mine for several years now and when I use it, I do love the result. Orange juice in particular is just fantastic. The motor is powerful as advertised and it's lasted well. Where it fails is in cleaning difficulty. The plastic basin gets quite grungy over time and is difficult to reach everywhere. The top is also a bit tricky. You almost need special brushes just for it. But I like it just the same.

I have had my Juicer now for 7 years and have never had a problem with it - I love it! I juice twice a day and have lost weight just by juicing!! This machine is well made and has stood the test of time. Although it is a wee bit noisy and you have to chop some fruits, I don't mind because it is an excellent, well made product. I would highly recommend.
