Right after my back surgery, my husband brought this home for me. It was a godsend. I absolutely loved it and needed it as I wasn't allowed to bend over for 6 weeks. I picked up everything from dimes to laundry (yes I did my laundry with it). Granted you can't pick up real heavy items, but I abused it more than I should have with no problems. Now my back is better and I still use it to pick up things the dogs drag around the house. I will always keep one around.

I bought this for $10. at a local store, and have used it for at least one year. Because I have trouble bending over, it has been invaluable for picking things up off of the floor. I've not used it for heavy objects, but it's great for dropped pills, coins, etc. If mine ever broke, I would definitely buy another.

I received mine as a gift. It's perfect for those of us that are "vertically challenged" (short). You can't pick up heavy objects but you probably shouldn't be doing that with a tool like this. It's great for getting boxes of cereal from the top of our pantry. It's also a nice tool for those with back problems and can't bend over to pick things off the floor. I wish there was a heavy-duty version of this. Really, this is a 3.5 star rating.

I am a bartender at Macaroni Gill. I was trying to reach across and 8ft fire pit and decided to try this product. I got it at [] for $10. As far as sliding things and picking up glasses, it worked great. It is fairly strong vertically, I could hold a full bottle of wine. However, it's flimsy horizontally, so I wouldn't recommend trying to move anything heavier than a plate. Many many times guests tried it and loved it.

Product seems to do an OK job, it will pick up very tiny things, and does handle large things fairly well. My only problem is the rubber cups that actually do the grasping. They have a plastic center, but are fastened to the device with metal screws. Sometimes they would come loose and fall off, but many times, the plastic part would crack, especially if grasping objects not THAT heavy. Once cracked, they end is near, and eventually they fall off, and device is unusable.

I purchased this original from infomercial. It does work very well and will pick up almost anything, including a dime and a paperclip! It will pick up fairly heavy things also. The only problem I have with it is that part of the middle is plastic, and over time this breaks. I am on my third one because I like it well enough for reaching hard to reach places that I buy another one after it breaks. Now you can purchase it in gas stations, stores, etc. for about $9.95 each. So, purchase it if you want to be able to reach any number of things or if you just have trouble bending over to pick up things. However, don't expect it to last forever! I wish they would make the hinge piece a little stronger.
