Product Description
Never get caught in the dark again! The Everlife Flashlight uses no batteries or bulbs. Instead it uses your energy and induction to produce a bright light using efficient LED technology. Just shake the light for about 30 seconds and the Everlife Flashlight will provide about 5 minutes of light. During prolonged use it can be shaken for 10-15 seconds every 2 or 3 minutes giving you an unlimited supply of light. The Everlife Flashlight requires no maintenance. You can leave it in your car, home, boat or RV for a long time and it will still be ready to produce light when you need it. The bright LED will last for thousands of hours and provide a lifetime of service. Actually it should never need replacement. Some of the great features of the Everlife Flashlight: Never needs batteries, never needs bulbs, waterproof, floats in water, visible for up to one mile and the Everlife Flashlight provides a super bright blue/white LED light.

Works well for what it is

11/12/2007 - Diane of California, USA writes:

I bought these at a county fair a couple of years ago, at two for $20. We keep them in the cars for emergency light, although my daughter borrowed one to take to camp. That worked out well, since she wasn't wasting batteries. The light isn't really bright and you have to shake it for a couple of minutes to get light, but I consider that a fair trade-off for the fact that you don't have to worry about leaking or dead batteries. I wouldn't try to use it for an extended period of time, but for stuff like looking for house numbers on an unlighted street, it does the job.

decent, not perfect, but good

8/8/2007 - JP of California, USA writes:

I bought two of these, and after showing them off at work, had 5 friends ask me to buy some for them too. They aren't the brightest, but they are ok. Sometimes they take a little long to light up as well, and then even when they are "off" they are "on"

Everlife Flashlight

7/21/2007 - AJ of North Carolina, USA writes:

We ordered the Everlife Flashlight for Christmas gifts. I took mine out of the package and immediately noticed that the magnetic cylinder was not connected properly. I checked the others and it was not disconnected. I don't recommend this product.

Decent

5/27/2007 - Anonymous of New York, USA writes:

I bought this product from a local hardware store that had it on sale for about $12 - $14 a few years ago. The product does work as advertised and is not built from cheap plastic. However, it probably won't live up to everyone's expectations. Since I knew it uses a LCD bulb, instead of an incandescent bulb found in most standard flashlight, I wasn't expecting an extremely bright light. But it is bright enough. Also the diameter of the light is not as wide as a standard flashlight, that's due to the way how LCDs emits light. If you have ever tried to view a typical LCD monitor from an angle, you would note a drop in brightness and also color fading. The best thing about this flashlight is that it does not require batteries. The worst thing about this product is that it does not require batteries. That means you will need to shake this flashlight to generate and store electricity. Not a big deal for a short period of time, but if you needed to use it for an extensive period of time, then it can be quite annoying. I would say that 1 minute of shaking equals about 4 or 5 minute of light, but only the first minute will be "bright" after that the intensity starts to slowly fade. The light is still usable, but just as bright. The little capacitor that this flashlight uses to store electricity can hold the charge for a short period of time (think minutes, not hours). Having a battery-less flashlight comes in handy and this product definitely does work, but I'm thinking of replacing it with a portable hand-cranked flashlight that can also be used to recharge a cellphone in a pinch. Just be aware that not all cellphones can be recharged this way because the power plug for cellphones comes in different sizes. Anywaste, 'cause this product does work as advertised, I'll give it 3 stars. Brighter would be nicer.

Waste of Money

8/15/2006 - Gina of Alabama, USA writes:

I bought this as a Father's Day Present for my father-in-law. I have never been so emabarrased in my life. We shook it and shook it and shook it for twenty minutes and then we got about two minutes of soft glowing light. Not bright enough to keep yourself from tripping in the dark. Don't bother with it. Its a good idea but thats where it ends.

Don't waste your money.

7/24/2006 - Lamune of Ohio, USA writes:

These poor-quality, cheaply-assembled lights use a NiCd button battery and a single low-intensity LED bulb. If you are looking for a good battery-free emergency kit light, spend the extra money to get a more quality product (something with a wind-up crank) as you will be quite dissapointed. If you are looking for something cheap and reliable to keep in a glove box, go to any store and buy an LED keychain light. For $3 you will get the same performance, with a bulb and battery that will last for days, and will keep in storage for years.

Rip Off

2/15/2006 - LeRoy of Washington, USA writes:

Shake for 20 minutes; get 2 minutes of limited light. The switch on the small freebee didn't work. There was none of the warning in the advertisements. Sent it back 2 months ago today and no refund. The phone number is always busy.

it works, used it last night

1/23/2006 - Richard of Florida, USA writes:

It does work. You just shake it back & forth. I have bought many, many flashlights and they always seem to fail due to leaking batteries. This can't happen with this! Quality could be better though.

worse product ever purchased

1/19/2006 - Jae of New Jersey, USA writes:

I purchased 9 flashlights all together thinking they would be a great general gift to give out as well as a useful gift. Lightning bugs provide more light than these flashlights. There is no paperwork included in with the shipment for easy return. This is a real rip off!

NO FORM INCLUDED FOR RETURNS

1/16/2006 - Debbie of California, USA writes:

Very disappointed in this product. I have been trying to find out how to return this merchandise. I had ordered these for X-Mas gifts but received 3 on 12/27/05 and 1 on 01/05/06. After seeing the flashlights I wouldn't give them as a gift. I just don't understand why there isn't any paperwork included with a customer number, nothing. I've been tempted to toss them in the trash but I work too hard for my money. Please let me know if I can return these.

Update on refund

1/13/2006 - Liz of Illinois, USA writes:

UPDATE: I finally after 2 1/2 months received the refund, but just the 19.95 for the flashlight, not the shipping and handling or the return shipping and handling I had to pay. Not happy.

Okay in a pinch but not great

1/5/2006 - Yvonne of Arizona, USA writes:

We bought one of these at a local trade show. A few months later we had a power outage. Not a lot of fun but we were excited about using our new flashlight! That faded fast. The excitement and the light! The light only lasts a few minutes. You have to shake it constantly. It'd be okay to get you to your other better flashlights and candles. We have since bought the kind of battery-less flashlights that have a little crank/wind mechanism. Those work much better. The light lasts much longer.

Dim, short life

12/26/2005 - Dan of California, USA writes:

I received this set of small and large units as a Christmas gift. They are well built, but have poor circuit designs. Also, it's obvious the coil on the large one was not wound evenly--poor quality control. Both the small and the large flashlights were very dead upon arrival. After much vigorous shaking, they lit dimly for a few seconds. They simply will not hold a charge. Seems the capacitors are too small or there's a draining short somewhere. They are bright while you are shaking them, then they dim and rapidly fade out. I have another brand (Valor / Lee) that is easily twice as bright and holds its charge for days, then stays lit for many minutes when needed. A battery-less flashlight a great idea and others have brought workable designs to market, but I do not recommend this set.

Select Applications

12/26/2005 - Jim of South Carolina, USA writes:

Although just received, I am quite impressed with all three sizes. Especially the bigger one, perfect for keeping in the vehicle for emergencies. It/they may not have the candle power of a battery flashlight, but it is a great alternative.

Poor product, worse customer service, no refund

12/19/2005 - Max of California, USA writes:

Not only is this product pitiful in its performance (the light produced is much less than a candle after rigorous shaking) but it took over two months to obtain the product. Now that I've returned the product, I have yet to obtain a refund despite the fact that the Indian customer service representative said I would be refunded in the next 3 days. It has been 12 - and still no sign of the refund - from which they deducted the exorbitant cost of shipping (over $20 for three small flashlights.) The product is horrible and the customer service is even worse (what customer service?) I even called Cricket productions headquarters in Marlboro, MA and left several messages weeks ago without a response. Good luck trying to contact someone or get your money back. Hope this helps and I hope you don't fall victim to this bad company.

Not really happy

I was not pleased. This is not something for someone with arthritis as it needs shaking all the time.I have returned it and still waiting a refund.

Great Emergency Flashlight

11/15/2005 - Gary of Tennessee, USA writes:

I have three models, 11 inch, 8 inch and 5 inch. Each only have a single LED to produce the light. They are great for lighting a close up area, like when changing a tire or searching a dark closet. Not as powerful as a flashlight of equivalent size, thus the range distance of usage is very limited. If you set them the your vehicle in the direction of your vehicle travel, starting and stopping can keep them charged up to full capacity for an emergency. After using the first one, I called back and ordered several more. Naturally the 11 inch is my preferred unit, the 8 inch is OK, but the 5 inch, well you might find a keyhole with it.

An ok product

7/27/2005 - Sue of Pennsylvania, USA writes:

I gave this as a Christmas gift.  The gift recipient found that it does work, it retains the charge as claims but isn't as bright as regular battery/charged flashlights
