Product Description
The EdenPURE Heater is supposed to heat rooms from wall to wall and floor to ceiling. It is similar to a space heater. However, the makers of the EdenPURE Portable Heater claim their product can "cut your heating bill up to 50% while keeping you toasty warm." The EdenPURE Heater is billed as a safer alternative to traditional space heaters because it generates "infrared heat." The infomercial refers to this as a "soft heat.". The manufacturer also says that EdenPURE can heat rooms faster than combustion heaters and cannot start a fire. Check this page often for reviews of the EdenPURE Portable Heater.

I purchased 3 of these units to the tune of $1440. One arrived DOA and a second quite shortly after we started using it. The DOA unit was quickly replaced by the company; however, it too died soon after we started usint it. The 3rd unit did survive through the winter; however it too is now dead. We used these heaters to assist with the heating of our cafe so we could save $$ on oil. the winter ended up costing me over $2200, plus a bit of electricity. I only had to fill my oil tank once, but with all units now dead, I can say it was a $2200 winter. I be contacting EdenPure to see what they'll do about replacing the units. I'll be back to update this report once I've talked to them. At this point, I would not recommend purchasing these units as they just don't last. When they worked, they worked great. We loved them, as did our customers. They cost too much to only be good for a season. Anyway, I'll report again on how things go with replacements or fixes.

I spent $1400 on 4 of these heaters. 1 was DOA and 2 failed shortly after we started using them. The DOA was replaced by the company, but the replacement has since failed as well. The 4th of the original order did last through the winter and did help us with heating oil costs; however, this unit has also died. If you really get down to it, it cost me over $2200 to heat my shop this winter. I will be in touch with EdenPure to see what they will do for all 4 units. I'm not hopeful they will do anything except tell me I'm out $1400.

I purchased this product based solely on hearing [] saying all the good things about this product. I would usually check the reviews on my pc but thought, well, [] recommends it so it must be good. I am totally dissatisfied with this product and especially unhappy with the return process.(the fan quit working after 3 mos.) My recomendation is to not buy this product and to always look for reviews before buying

I have a Sun Twin unit(EdenPURE's other brand) here in my Ohio office and it's kept me warm all winter. My only complaint is that it sometimes gets too hot in here! Based on what others have written, though, I think it's a welcomed complaint. I'm more than satisfied with this unit and would like to have one at home too. I can imagine my beagle curling up next to it instead of laying by vents and hogging all the heat like she does now. Thanks, Sun Twin.

DO NOT USE ALL CAPS. I bought this heater for my parents who are on a fixed income and need to cut back on their heating bills. They received it for Christmas and it did not even last through the winter. The return/repair process is made extremely difficult. In fact I have yet to get them to answer an email and I began the process of repairs 6 weeks ago. My parents were left this winter with a gift that does not work and high heating bills they were hoping to avoid. My parents have a neighbor in the same situation, he bought a EdenPure because he was in desperate need of lowering his heating bills. He is also on a fixed income. His heater does not work either so he spent money on a product that does not work and still owes high heating bills. I plan to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I hope other unhappy customers will join me. It is time that the manufacturers of this product are held resposible for putting out a faulty product.

First off, I am suprised that there are only complaints here. I guess that if it is working good for you, then you don't bother with websites like these. I have 2 of the 1000 models. An older one that I've had for about 2 years and the newer 1000 with the remote control. One of the BIG pluses in my book is that I can leave it running all day and my 2 year old daughter can climb all over it, sit on it, play around it, and she doesn't get get burned, like most space heaters would. We have a first floor with a vaulted ceiling to a second story loft area (approx 1600 squ feet) and we have our heater sitting downstairs. We keep it running on high and set our furnace thermostat to about 62 degrees. Both of those rooms are very comfortable with this setup. We run ours all day long, no trouble. I wouldn't expect this heater to replace my furnace, but it does an excellent job in the living area it's placed in. The only problem I had was I noticed the air out put was noticeably low, to the point it seemed like it wasn't running. So I shut it off, cleaned the filter, let the unit "cool", and turned it back on. Works perfect. Now I make sure to clean filter a little more often. I guess the big thing for me is that I don't have to worry that my daughter will get burned if she touches the unit. Bottom line is, once my basement is finished, I'm getting another one!

I ordered the heater, it didn't come. I disputed the charge on my credit card, they credited me. As soon as the company got recharged they shipped out a USED BROKEN heater that someone else obviously returned. I plugged it in anyway and of course it didn't work. I called 5 diff phone #'s and emailed the company. I got long waits and then dumped to vm bx which the person doesn't call back. I got recharged by bof A and they said too bad the clock ran out and you are stuck with the charge!! Also UPS sez it is $65 to return it. I am going to make BBB of ohio complaint and advise all others on here to do the same or find an attorney who will do a class action. I am disgusted!

I got one of the flyers in the mail and at first though this is to good to be true. We were spending about $1,400 a winter in heating oil and then my wife and I got the EdenPure 1,000XL. It warms up our house in about 15 minutes and Im able to keep the furnace turned down to 62*. Our electric bill has gone up about $45 dollars but we have saved almost $600 so far in heaitng oil! I want another one!

I wouldn't buy it. Our electric bill tripled. I sent it back and got my refund before the warranty expired. Heated evenly but ran all the time.

I bought an EdenPure Heater and also Air Purifier from Affordable Heat LLC. www.edenpurestore.com. I was on the edge at first but after talking to the sales rep I placed my order. I have the 1,000XL and it heats my basement very nicely. The Air Purifier has completely reduce all cigarette smoke in my house. I am going to buy more units!

I bought one solely on Paul Harveys word how good this product was. Never again, after 3 months, it broke and I have to call today about it. I wish I would of read some reviews on it because it sounds like I have been scammed but Paul Harvey? Shame on you Paul!

This was the biggest waste of 400 dollars that I have ever seen. It still stinks the room up so much I can barely stand to have it on, it is the 1000 model and runs constantly to heat a 16 by 17 room up to 62 to 65. I almost bought one for my sister but am glad I didn't. I now use a small ceramic heater and get more heat for less electricity..I can get it up to 80 in here with the ceramic heater. These Eden Pures are the most over-hyped pieces of junk on the market. The advertising is a big lie! Buy a decent ceramic heater fo less than 100 bucks. more heat, less money.

I am on my second unit. First unit just stopped working. The first I had less than a month. They were helpful in sending me a new one however in the third month of using it it too has stopped working. The fan kept getting noisier and nosier and then just stopped. I would love to get my money back but that probaly won't happen. There heating capacity was not any where near what they claimed. Bad deal all around! Betty

Purchased 2 XL1000 units ... Both stopped working within a week and I have requested return labels twice over the last month ... No labels ... Are they waiting until the warranty runs out ... Very disappointed with heaters and customer service and Paul Harvey ... Wondering if I will ever get my money back ... Is there a class action ???

As I read these reviews I felt fear in buying my heater. But at any event I went ahead and ordered one. The Edenpure 1000XL. I Love it! It works great. I have 2 kids and one gets nose bleeds all the time. This stopped the nose bleeds because it didnt take the humidity out of my room. Yes my electric bill went up. It costs about 1.20 a day to run. (About 75.00 a month) But its much cheaper than gas. This thing is NOT designed to heat a whole house. But to be used to offset my furnace and gas bill. I can leave it running while my kids are in the room and not worry about it burning them. Another really cool thing is just how healthy this heat is. I tried a space heater from home depot and it burned up all the oxygen in the room. While we sit in the living room with the ceramic heater going, we would get sleepy. The Edenpure infrared lights doesnt burn the air so it keeps the oxygen in the air. I highly recommend it. Espeically if you take a pot of water or a cool mist vaporizer and use it in concert with the heater. It really makes our home warm. Even the surfaces are warm like the floors and tables. (my toddlers feet dont freeze) When we run our furnace or our old space heater it just burns the air. I could go on and on. I will say try placing it in differnet parts of the room. It took us a couple of days to find the magic spot. It not going to heat 1000 sq feet like they advertise unless its a wide open room, simply because its not using heat ducts. So it cant go through doors and walls. I highly recommend one. We are going to get 2 for next year and put one at the other end of our house.

This heater has two issues: One you never rate it against other electrical heaters, heat pumps, for cost. ONLY oil. Then it literally pays for itself in four months. The other comparisons watt for watt are identical EXCEPT IR heaters do not burn the air, there is no acrid smell, the moist air does hang better in the room. That said the other issue is RELIABLITY. I bought four of these--the Chinese firm that makes them needs a workover in its reliability department, two of the four heater failed first year, with same issues, including busted reostat and fan failures. TERRIBLE! Return service was good, but replacements no better. These folks need to go back to the drawing board, I am back to ceramic heaters safely placed, with open water in the room to replace humidity, for about 280 bucks for FOUR, not one refurbished unit.

Please do not buy this product. They will tell you all they want to just to get a sale. Upon receiving this comfortzone heater and plugging it in to use, all circut breakers blew. We have a 13 year old 1,100 sq. foot house. We tried every plug in the house and the circuts continued to blow. We were even told by the tech support employee to use an extension cord- if you look in the manual is states never to use one of those. I assume for fire hazard reasons. Regardless, our first electric bill tripled what it has always been. PLEASE take consumer experience advice before Paul Harvey's or the distributors advice to buy one, not only to save yourself money but to save endless hours on the phone with the distributor to get a replacement or your money back. My advice more then i can say: DO NOT PURCHASE THIS!

between my family and I we have 7 units. We love them to death and they are awsome. You have to use them in conjunction with your main heat source. I have my gas set on about 60 degrees and mu eden pure heaters keep the temp about 68 in the living areas. This unit is made to maintain the heat source. You are not to use as a main heat source but to use as supplemental heat. Some people think this will heat there entire house byitself, its not a maricle worker.

I ordered four of these 1500 watt products over time, about $1250 for the older models, including 2 alleged scratch and dent (read refurbished) models, and here's the bottom line: Most folks here feel bamboozled. Here's my experience, and a summary of all of the above. If you're comparing OIL heat, and it's rising price at $3.35 a gallon, EDENPURE will cut your NET bill enough in a 2750 square foot house, to pay for themselves, in my case all four units in ONE SEASON. IT DID FOR ME. DEAD BANG. BUT don't bother if you've heat pumps, natural gas (for the reasonable forseeable future). You'll never be able to match the cost angle, although, the heat QUALITY is as described, moist and warm without a burning or drying sensation suffered ALL other heating processes. BUT RELIABILITY SUX! as you can see from these posts--it's getting these units to last more than one season. There are thermostat and heating element RELIABILITY issues-these fail almost initially (called infant mortality), or over a short period of time (one heating season) and you either ship the box back and hastle with its weight and customer service, or do without. These Edenpure folks, for all their touting of heavenly, ask for trust on that account. RELIABILITY, cost comparisons against oil only, would yield greater fandom than that expressed here. These folks need a redesign, and a trip to China to ensure quality control, and testing to make sure these units work on an independent test pad. Till then, I am hunting for other IR heaters with better reputation for reliability. The concept is ok.

I called customer service about an Edenpure that needed servicing after the warranty had just run out. I was told that even though the warranty was out that they would replace it at no cost. I was responsible for the shipping cost only. Couple of weeks later I got a call that I did not include by $89 servicing fee. I called back and related that I was told there would be no fee. Now, I can't get the heater back unless I send in the $89. Whatever happened to the customer is always right?
