They Work

5/7/2008 - Dennis of AZ, USA writes:

We have a small apt. size dryer and they work better than dryer sheets for what we do. First we pre-dry the clothes on a line until almost dry or fully dry then use 2 dryer balls to take out the wrinkles and stiffness. The only problem I had was after overloading the dryer they balled up inside the sheets but my wife has not had that problem. I'm thinking of buying another pair and seeing how they works out. We feel we already got our value back in the 6 months since buying the product.

Works well

4/22/2008 - Jason of California, US writes:

They work great for most things except some of my slacks. For some reason two pairs of my slacks always seem to be staticy after using the dryer balls, and I end up having to use dryer sheets. Other than those two pairs of slacks they works great.

Way too noisey

4/16/2008 - Richard of Sask, CA writes:

I did not find any appreciable difference between balls and no balls. I did find the noise levels of those balls bouncing around in the dryer with small loads was, in fact, unbearable. I suppose that is the problemm with main floor laundry. As far as functionality, the kids are now using them as toys, and Bounce sheets are back.

My ex boyfriend bought them for me as a gift and we both love them. i have not used fabric softener once since i rec'd them and it doesn't shave huge time off drying but it does seem faster and the clothes come out nice and fluffy and static free.

Love them

1/2/2008 - Maggie of Missouri, USA writes:

I love the dryer balls and give them as gifts too. They are especially great for my blouses to keep them from being wrinkled. Our local news station had a lady do a test on towels and she showed that the towels dried with the dryer balls were fluffier than the stack dried without the balls. They're really great for baby clothes since you can't use dryer sheets for them. I still use dryer sheets just for the smell but that's my choice. Sometimes my kids get my laundry out and my dryer balls get lost so I have had to go out and buy several packages of them cuz I don't like doing laundry without them. Towels are softer using them. The only time I don't use them is for bedspreads cuz they might get lost. I tell everyone about them, even when I'm in stores. Seeing is believing. Buy them and see how great they are. They don't tear up clothes or hurt them at all. I've been using them a couple years now. They're a laundry must.

Not Bad

12/20/2007 - Don of Ontario, Canada writes:

Saw the ad for these balls in a flyer, and thought'Why not". I was hoping they would eliminate static cling, but after I read the ad again, they didn't promise that at all. They do, however, really make the clothes come out of the dryer much softer. There is a notable difference from not using them at all, and it also makes them a lot easier to fold. Not a bad product at all

Crazy But They Work

12/19/2007 - Christopher of California, USA writes:

You would'nt think 2 plastic balls would do anything, but it works really well, mine are turning a light brown on the tips from using them so much, but my cloths are soft and I no longer use dryer sheets. Also stops wax from building up on the dryer filter. Just watch the dogs don't get them! Highly Recommended!

Useful

8/14/2007 - Jeanie of Florida, USA writes:

I must say these do work. I think they work better when you use fabric softener but even without they do a nice job of fluffing towels and other things you wouldn't use softener on as a rule. Am not one bit sorry I purchased these for they also slightly lower drying times. But removal of the items from the dryer after the cycle is paramount.

Dryer Balls work well.

7/14/2007 - Rick of Maryland, USA writes:

This product isn't going to save you any money or prevent you from needing dryer sheets because it doesn't prevent static. But it does fluff your laundry and thats really why I purchased the product. Just be realistic in your expectations when you buy these types of products.

Pretty Good Product

6/10/2007 - Anonymous of Alberta, Canada writes:

I bought this product at a Home and Garden Show and the girl at the booth claimed that the dryer balls will dry your clothes faster, and your clothes will come out static free and fluffy. She also recommended using half the amount of laundry detergent and to add some Borax when washing because it's the laundry detergent that will cause the clothes to be staticky after being in the dryer. I bought the product and tried it out with her advice in mind, and the clothes did come out fluffy and most of my clothes dried in half the time (although fabircs like jeans took 3/4 the amount of time that it used to), but my clothes still came out staticky. Then, I discovered a natural laundry detergent called Nellies and when I started using this product to wash my clothes, I have discovered that my clothes don't come out of the dryer staticky anymore (except during winter when it's mildy staticky). So when the girl told me that static was caused by the laundry detergent, she wasn't lying. One last thing, the dryer balls aren't very useful with bedding, it tends to get tangled up in it. Otherwise, this is a pretty good product. With the amount of money it's managed to save me it's already paid for itself.

Worked for me in 2 or 3 areas

5/25/2007 - Sarah of Indiana, USA writes:

Hi. I received these as a gift. They do a GREAT job in fluffing up fabric. My flannel sheets that are 7 years old are now double the height when folded! These balls also make drying go faster and they help fluff things such as pillows. Also, if I wanted to dry an item or two for emergency purposes, I used to throw a dry towel in with it to speed the process. That is no longer necessary with these. I don't feel these did a thing about static cling though. Oh well, I just use some watered down liquid softener and I'm fine. I would recommmend these and bought some for my Mom (the person who bought them for me to try originally) for Mother's day. Hope this helps.

Worth a try

5/10/2007 - Cathy of North Carolina, USA writes:

I bought this on a whim ~18 months ago - they sounded great. Turns out, while they weren't quite as good as claimed, I'm still glad I bought them. They do pretty well on controlling static cling, although if there's polyester or nylon in a load, the balls don't seem to make any difference (does anything?!). The clothes come out fairly soft. Our dryer takes forever (2-3 full cycles) to dry heavy loads of clothes, and with the balls, the drying time is cut by 15 or 20 minutes. They do get tangled in fitted sheets and sleeves sometimes, but overall I'd recommend them.

Don't Live Up to Claims

4/4/2007 - Kristi of Ontario, Canada writes:

UPDATE: I decided to try these with the premise of eliminating fabric softener. When I saw these dryer balls, I thought they would be a great option, providing softness and static relief (supposedly) I wanted something to "fluff" towels and sheets, as these often end up tangled or balled up in the dryer. I can't say as I'm that pleased with their performance. The dryer balls get lodged in the fitted portion of sheets, the leg portion of my baby's sleepers, and in long sleeves occasionally, which is a nuisance. I wouldn't say that there is any "noticeable" difference in static level than we already had. We use a gas dryer, and since this already dries clothes quicker than an electric dryer, I don't see any difference in drying time with these balls. I feel that they are mediocre, at best, and given the choice, I would not purchase them again.

costs more than they save

4/4/2007 - Steve of Minnesota, USA writes:

I found that they do soften, but at what cost? I noticed an increased amount of lint in the filter, so these balls are damaging the laundry. I made the mistake of using them with my clothing. Ruined every pair of underwear. I tossed them in the garbage.

Worth the price

3/25/2007 - Rebecca of Florida, USA writes:

I have used these balls for about a year. I don't need a dryer sheet for many of the loads I dry. Jeans and towels do come out soft(please note mineral content of water may affect whether additional softing is needed). The balls don't seem to reduce static. So loads that have nylon or polyester clothes I put half a dryer sheet in the load that seems cure the static problem. I haven't actually test the dry time by drying the exact same number and type of items to see if the dry time is reduced. But one of balls dropped on the floor when I was taking the clothes out of the dryer and did not notice. Somebody stepped on it (I don't think the dog is guilty, no teeth marks). I liked the balls enough to buy another set. I do recommend the dryer balls. I even bought them for my daughters.

Works well

1/20/2007 - Krista of California, USA writes:

I like these because my husband is allergic to most dryer sheets and the balls do help to keep clothes wrinkle free. They also work really well with large blankets.

not sure

12/11/2006 - Marsha of Virginia, USA writes:

The package of 2 suggests that 4-6 balls might be better. They tell you to use medium heat but my dryer doesn't have that setting so I just set it for "less dry." I can't tell if it saved drying time;it didn't seem to. There still was a bit of static and they do make a little noise.

Tennis Balls work the same

11/17/2006 - Dana of California, USA writes:

I have been using NEW tennis balls for years when drying my Down Comforters. It helps move them around more so they get dry faster. I never thought to use them in all my laundry. When these dryer balls came out, I thought I would give them a try. Guess What...the tennis balls work better! Now I use the tennis balls in all my laundry but I still use a dryer sheet for static control.

Does shorten drying times

10/8/2006 - Diane of Tennessee, USA writes:

My dryer loads are now done in 1/3 less time. For someone who does a lot of laundry that could add up to significant savings. I did not notice any real difference in softness, but towels do come out "fluffier" . At $9.99 plus tax I think these were worth it.

Not really great

9/30/2006 - Max of Illinois, USA writes:

These work ok, but towels do not come out soft. Does not save on drying time. Have to use a sheet of fabric softener with these, to get towels soft. All clothes do not come out unwrinkled!
