Works but not always a blessing

5/14/2008 - Melody of So Cal, usa writes:

Pros: Helps a pet that has difficulty jumping either because of size age or medical issues. My elderly pug with some coxing was able to use. Con's it's a little shaky so I had to place it next to night stand to stabilize. Also I found it to be just a tad narrow although my dog would use it he acted insecure so I used two side by side.. Other con... would be losing a good night sleep since everyone can join me.. and if you take the steps away they will just whine... good luck

My dog loves it!

3/3/2008 - Jen of California, USA writes:

Bought this and at first my dog didn't want anything to do with it. It took us a lot of work to get her comfortable with it, but now that she is she wouldn't dream of trying to jump on the bed by herself. I'm so thankful for this product because it was reasonably priced and I no longer have to reach down to help her up on the bed.

Love it

9/7/2007 - Kimberly of Texas, USA writes:

Bought this for my chihuahua after she had knee surgery. She wouldn't use it at all. We were disappointed, we would try to walk her up them and leave treats at the top, and she still would not touch them. We bought a puppy and the puppy loved them!! After a while of seeing the puppy use them our older chihuahua started to use them! Now that she uses them it's wonderful because she still hurts alot and is on medication for it and can't jump up on the furniture. So if you can get your dog to ue them they are great, otherwise it's just something to take up space.

Great Prodcut

8/10/2007 - Kimberly of New York, USA writes:

i have a little 10 pound bichon. when she was a puppy i had surgery and was unable to pick her up to put her on the sofa...and she was too short to jump. i ordered the doggy steps (set of two). she took to them right away, with a little coaxing. that was two years ago. she is still using my same two sets, one for the sofa one for the bed. one of the better pet products on the market!

I liked it, my dog didn't

7/13/2007 - Roberta of Pennsylvania, USA writes:

I had a Westie - one of the dogs they show on the commercial, and I felt so bad when he constantly had to work so hard to jump on furniture. I bought my Doggy Steps in a store, only after I had the opportunity to see that it would be sturdy enough. The steps needed assembly, but that was easy. nfortunately, at 10 years old, my dog (a smart little dude) was so used to jumping that he wouldn't try the steps. I think he would have eventually been convinced but, sadly, I lost him before that happened. Bottom line, I think, is that an older dog may or may not bother with them. A puppy might be easier to convince. And this product was way cheaper than the wood steps sold other places.

Just sold it at a yard sale

7/4/2007 - Sara of New York, USA writes:

I have two little wiener dogs. I thought it would help them get up on the bed. They wouldn't use it, which made it useless to me. So, I sold it at a yard sale and maybe that person will have better luck. I would rate it higher if they actually would have used it. Concept seemed to be good.

Works for my dog

5/16/2007 - MaryLou of Virginia, USA writes:

I have two Poms, one has no problem jumping up on the bed or couch, the other is too short to reach anything. I saw the steps in a store, but they only had the 3 step version. They aren't the most attractive things, but were easy to put together and sturdy enough to support my friends adult beagle as well. Since I got them in the store, I did not deal with support or shipping issues.

It works

3/4/2007 - Anne of California, USA writes:

I bought one for my chihuahua puppy and one for my dads elderly blue heeler.....Both dogs use them and like them. The 3 step was just enough to get my chihuahua to the top of my box spring....she can jump from there. It is sturdy, and does what it claims.

My little dog likes it

12/11/2006 - Marsha of Virginia, USA writes:

I bought the doggy steps at [] for $29.99. They are easy to set up. If you need a 4th step you have to order it. My standard dachshund learned how to use it after two "explanations." My 13 year old cocker will use it oly if lead up them but he is not known for his brains. It might be nice if they were a little wider but for the average small-medium dog, these are fine and a bargain at the price. They are more expensive steps and ramps that enhance your decor but this was not the reason I bought mine.

Product ok, Customer Service Bad

3/25/2006 - Linda of Arizona, USA writes:

Previous review is right. Product is ok, but trying to talk to customer service is hard. They actually didn't ship the product at first, 2 months later I got a surprise that they didn't ship again, and finally it shipped. Surprised it is plastic.

good product, service poor

2/19/2006 - Tom of Florida, USA writes:

The product itself is fabulous. It goes together easily and does exactly what it says at a good price. The bad part is that when you order it they try, very hard, to talk you into various upgrades and extras by using confusing pop-ups and other web tricks more suitable for a porn site. I ended up paying about $90 and got 3 sets of steps, 2 standard, one deluxe (an extra step on it). A good deal but I really only needed one set... The shipping time was horrible too, months.
