I love this Dermacia

8/26/2008 - Sharron of Oregon, USA writes:

I got samples of Dermacia in a New Beauty Test Tube kit - I used it a couple of times but thought it was too heavy for everyday use(although I did use it for my work Christmas party and my skin looked great all night and I really liked the pictures from the party). A few months ago I tried [] but the lightest shade still wasn't light enough for me. I switched to a [] foundation, but after a few weeks I developed a reaction to it. Since I didn't have any other foundation, I pulled out my little tubes of Dermacia. I mixed the two lightest shades with some moisturizer and it worked great (I wear the Mineral Veil Powder over it). My irritated, puffy skin cleared up right away. So, I ordered the whole kit - cleanser, moisturizer, spray and foundation. I pre-mixed the two shades of foundation with some of the moisturizer because I found I was wasting too much product by putting it on the back of my hand. So, I have a little container of my pre-mix and I can easily lighten or darken it if I get a little sun. I apply it with my finger tips - the addition of the moisturizer makes it go on really smooth. It covers well without looking heavy or emphasizing wrinkles. The cleanser and moisturizer don't smell particularly great but to me this means it's not full of irritating perfumes. The product does contain Isopropyl Myristate and some similar ingredients that may cause or worsen acne in some people, but I have oily blemish-prone skin and haven't had a problem with it.

This is the only product I can use

6/6/2008 - Lori of KY, USA writes:

I absolutely love dermacia. I have suffered from Rosacea and have extremely senstive skin. My skin would burn when I applied other makeup products. But since Dermacia lets your skin breathe, I have no problems at all. I have also tried the bare escentials product line since they say that is good for people with rosacea but that irritated my skin also. I don't know what I would do without Dermacia. I can't be without it. The coverage is great too. Wonderful product.

Absolute Rip off!

4/14/2008 - maggie of CA, SF writes:

This product is by far the worst make-up product I have ever used! Everything they claimed it would do was the complete opposite. In addition, their customer service was the worst! I tried returning the product and they continued to keep sending me the damn thing! Buyers be aware, this was an absolute scam. I can't even rate, because it was that bad!

Skin Care Specialist loves it!

4/3/2008 - Jeanie of North Carolina, USA writes:

I have been using Dermacia for 2 years and I love it. A plastic surgeon reccommended it. I have access to any products I want to try but I keep returning to this. There is a trick to applying this: use a moisturizer first to give it some slip. Apply Dermacia as soon as possible using light, quick strokes. I dot onto face first. A little goes a long way. A slightly damp sponge works well also. Tap underneath eye area. Do not use a heavy hand or too much. You can always apply more by tapping make-up over areas that need more coverage. Also great for humid climates. Great for your skin. Love, love it!

Love it but...

3/29/2008 - Maria of Washington, USA writes:

UPDATE: I have used the Dermacia foundation and cleanser off and on for quite awhile and really like it. I always, always use a sponge for smooth and light coverage. It's very thick and hard to blend if you try to apply with your fingers. I think that's why some people find it too thick. With the sponge I find it east and quick to apply. Also, when i first started using it, I thought it made the wrinkles under my eyes look more prominent so I would use an oilier foundation just under my eyes. It bothered me that I wasn't getting the benefits of the ingredients under my eyes tho, and would sometimes put one of the colors that didn't match my skin under my eyes at night like an overnight treatment. I felt like my eye area looked better in the morning. I use it under my eyes during the day all of the time now. I love the cleanser. It really does a great job of getting the foundation off. You kind of need it. Or some kind of a special makeup remover since it's made to be somewhat waterproof. I don't use the spritzer or the toner because I was having an allergic reaction to one of them, maybe both. Not sure which, but my face was itching like crazy. Yes, most of the bottles I've had do eventually stop pumping which is really annoying. But I deal with it. And it's not annoying enough to stop using the product. Overall, I love the coverage. My skin is happy when I wear it, and I get compliments on my skin which is nice. I just got one last night in fact. An acquaintance of mine was shocked to find out that I am 42. She said "Really! You look great!" Dermacia, if you are listening, I wish you would make a breathable moisturizer. Something that really hydrate. I hate to use any other products between my skin and the foundation because I really believe it does amazing things for my skin, but sometimes I need that extra hydration.

The only makeup I can use!!!

2/27/2008 - Brenda of California, USA writes:

For 20 years I have been obsessed with trying all kinds of makeup products since I had acne and oily skin, and this is the ONLY foundation I could use when I was on Accutane, which is a medication for acne that made my skin red, flakey, and VERY sensitive...this makeup actually soothed my skin when I was on that medication. I loved it so much that I continued to use it after my course of Accutane was finished, and even with oilier skin, it's been the best! I've been using Dermacia for two years now. I get lots of compliments- my boyfriend doesn't even think I have makeup on (when I have a light layer on)! It stays on in the water (just blot, do not wipe face dry). My nose gets oily, so I do have to blot that area during the day. I prep my skin with my own products from my dermatologist (including a retinoid), and then apply the foundation with a brush and blend with either my fingers around my my eyes with a little eye cream and a sponge everywhere else- PREP and correct APPLICATION is KEY! It only takes me a minute or two to apply, now that I know how the foundation works. I can't use any other makeup except a loose powder because most other makeup burns my skin and makes me break out; I even bring this foundation to makeup artists when I have to be on camera and work out under hot lights all day long (in workout videos), and they are impressed with the product, although not with the price...I do have to show them how to apply it, especially since I'll need more coverage for camera and that takes good blending- it SHOULD NOT be applied directly onto a sponge because the sponge will absorb the pigment and will dry the makeup out!...as for their other products, I use the cleanser to take off the makeup, which works well for me. I prefer to use my own toner to prep my skin before application, but I like to use Dermacia's toner after a workout when I do not have makeup on...The spray moisturizer is totally useless for me. I did take the time to follow the directions, and I learned, through trial and error over the years, what I need to do to prep my skin before putting on ANY makeup- that takes more time for me than the minute it takes to apply this foundation, which goes on easily and covers breakouts, even on oily skin such as mine. Also, Rachel Hunter works out at my Pilates studio, and I asked her how she liked the foundation- she said she LOVES it and uses it all the time. She wouldn't endorse a product she didn't love.

Really Got Screwed

2/4/2008 - Alisha of Texas, USA writes:

I too was very intrigued by the infomercials about Dermacia it just seemed that it would definately work for my skin...well it didn't. The foundation had this oily feel and felt disgusting on my skin, on top of that the foundation had more of a yellow tint to it and just seemed like I couldn't match it to my fair skin tone. I was far from pleased so I decided to cancel my membership and sent the product back within a week of using it and for some reason my credit card was still charged and with my luck I lost my reciept from the post office from when I had sent it. Now I'm still being charged some 99.98 because I don't have proof of sending the package back. I really got screwed in the end and have learned my lesson with those ridiculous infomercials.

This is my all time favorite foundtation!

1/19/2008 - Jeanne of Idaho, USA writes:

I have been using the foundation for well over a year now and this is the best I've ever tried. And believe me, I tried every brand of liquid foundation out there! I originally bought the kit and then sent it back and purchased the makeup elsewhere. If my skin is feeling particularly dry, like in the winter, I add just a bit of moisturizer and mix with the foundation. My skin looks better than it has in years :-)) I'm 53 years old and easily look 10 years younger.

Not worth the money

11/9/2007 - Michelle of Washington, USA writes:

I did not like this product at all. I thought the makeup was cakey and dried way to fast. Not to mention the fact the neither of the pumps for the makeup bottles worked so I had to try to dump the makeup out. However, this was very difficult since the makeup is so thick. I cancelled my membership and sent back the remainder of the product for a refuned. Unfortunately, they have charged me 49.99 because they say they have not received it. I am so glad I paid the extra $ for signature confirmation when I mailed it out so they cannot deny they received it. Hopefully this problem will be taken care of soon. If you plan on returning this, I would strongly recommend getting delivery or even signature confirmation.

I love it

10/17/2007 - Robin of California, USA writes:

I use Dermacia under Bare Minerals, love both, I used to get very oily with Bare Minerals after a few hours but do not have this problem at all using both products. A very light application of Dermacia under a light application of BM and it lasts all day. I also use the smallest amount of Dermacia as an eye shadow base, also excellent. You can find lots of Dermacia on eBay for allot less money. Only flaw is that Dermacia drys out very fast after it comes out of the container.

Follow Up Review

10/8/2007 - Cris of Florida, USA writes:

UPDATE: I've previously written a review on this product. If you scroll down you will see "Cris from Florida". By the way, that review obviously was not fake.I have been a Dermacia user for 6 months now and I have recently tried Bare Minerals looking for something in a mineral form rather than liquid, and I was disappointed. I suffer from Adult Onset Acne and have oily prone skin and need something that provides a maximum coverage without causing me further breakouts. I took before photos, applied the Bare Minerals (it took 4 applications before I gave up) and took an after photos. I washed my face and applied Dermacia and took another set of after photos. After being locked in the bathroom for 2 hours my husband came looking for me and as he laughed that I was taking before and after photos, he too commented on how much better my skin looked after applying Dermacia. I have had difficulty with the customer service of this company, as has most everyone I'm sure. Generally I would not financially support a company with such poor customer service, but Dermacia is the only product that works. I am NOT being paid for this review. I am in fact a REAL person. I understand how difficult it is for someone with acne and oily prone skin to find a good foundation, and at these prices one cant afford to "experiment" and fail. For that reason I am willing to email my before and after photos unedited as testimony of this pricey product. []

Worth it!

10/5/2007 - Teri of California, USA writes:

I wasn't thrilled with the price tag of the make up, but I thought it was worth a shot since I can return it if I didn't like it. But, I love it. It's smooth and last all day!

Not That Great

8/13/2007 - Carol of Pennsylvania, USA writes:

I could not wait to try this product but was very disapointed. The cleanser smelled horrible and the spray mositurizer drips down your face. The make up wasn't too bad but the color did not match my skin. The worst part was that after 2 weeks I had more break outs then I ever had. I returned the kit and canceled the club. I was told I could try just the make up so I decided to order just the make up but after seeing how bad my face was breaking out, I decided to cancel my order. I called the next day (a Friday)and was told my order was not in the system yet and to call back on Monday so they could just cancel my order, and that it would be 2 weeks before they ship it out. I called early on Monday morning only to be told that my order was in shipping and that I would have to wait until I received the order then call to return it but now I will be charged another S&H fee plus I have to pay to return it. They were not very nice on the phone at all! Besides, I saw an ad for the same original kit for half the price and no S&H at []. Buy it at the store instead!

Glad I gave it a second chance!

8/6/2007 - Angi of Indiana, USA writes:

I thought by age 34, I should have beautiful acne-free skin, but that's not been the case. I have had blotchy red skin with moderate acne since age twelve. I have tried every make up and acne treatment out there--spending thousands of dollars over the years. When I saw the Dermacia infomercial, I thought it was a god-send. I waited for two-weeks to receive the products (which I think is way too long), only to feel disappointed after trying it. It was hard to apply because it dried too quickly and the spray on moisture just wasn't enough to do the trick. I finished out the rest of the product because of the cost, not because I loved the product. I forgot to cancel the next shipment and decided to open up the new box (hey, we all love getting packages in the mail)...and by now I was starting to get the hang of the foundation (I just had to use a little of my old moisturizer), although still not happy. Thankfully, I had something in the new package that was not in the first package--the other facial moisturizer (not the spray kind). I watched the instructional DVD and read the booklet two times (something I hadn't done the first time around). The new moisturizer made all the difference for me. Like I said, my face is extremely oily and I am very prone to acne, so after I wash, I "tone" with hydrogen peroxide AND alcohol, which helps the acne, but adds to the redness. This time, I followed with the Dermacia toner and it just soothed out all the redness and burning from acne (and even soothed cold sores on my lips). I followed with a the new moisturizer, which made my face literally glow. I didn't even want to put makeup on afterwards, but I'm way too insecure to go without makeup. Next, I put one squirt of each foundation color (I had never used both before) and a small amount of the new facial lotion on the back of my hand, mixed them all together and applied it to my face. It went on so easily and evenly (no lines or streaks) that I was even able to put it around my eye area. I touched up a few spots and highlighted with the lighter color. AMAZING! I do not even need a powder, just a little blotting in the middle of the day. I am really not even using the spray moisture, but have it in my purse to rehydrate during the day if I need it. Truthfully, I keep going to the bathroom to touch up, only to find I don't need to! I LOVE THIS PRODUCT and I'm so glad I gave it a second try. It doesn't feel heavy or cakey in the least. I feel beautiful again. I only wish it were more affordable. Definately a five-star performer though.

Love this product!

8/1/2007 - Jennifer of Texas, USA writes:

I love the way this makes my skin look and feel. I have not had one blemish in the 6 months I have been using it. I do not use the brushes or sponges. I am over 40 and I prefer using my fingertips. Works better for me. I do not like the spray moisturizer. The second shipment was much cheaper. I've tried everything and this works the best for me! Would love to see color(blush & eyeshadow).

Better than minerals...

7/26/2007 - Mary of Hawaii, USA writes:

I really love this product. I was a little skeptical, but come to find out, it's great. I'm American Indian, so it's ultra hard to find anything that matches my skin color. I bought the tan kit and the honey color matched my skin perfectly. I have acne and this is actually helping me clear up my skin. I used the advice someone else wrote to "dot moisturizer all your face before applying product." If you just do that it will work wonders for you. Oh yes, I bought a MAC foundation brush and it really makes the Dermacia foundation go a long way.

Great makeup

7/11/2007 - Jessica of California, USA writes:

I think this makeup is great. I really like how natural it looks, and I don't need to use powder over it. It covers up my blemishes and looks fantastic and it doesn't even feel like I'm wearing much at all.

Loving this

6/13/2007 - Jenny of New York, USA writes:

A friend of mine gave me a bottle of this makeup to try, and I have to say that I am loving it. It feels great on my skin and makes me look very even-toned. It's not overly heavy and not oily, which is a problem I've had in the past. I just use a little bit where it's needed and I'm all set for the day. I haven't tried the skin care, but I'm very pleased with the foundation.
