I would never buy from this company. After 4 weeks I checked the status of my order and they said it was scheduled to ship at the end of the week. Called at end of following week - a girl said they were on backorder but checked with warehouse and they just got a shipment in and she promised it would go that day. I check today and a guy said no it has not shipped and it is on backorder. I told him cancel my order and I will NEVER NEVER buy from this company again no matter if it was best handbag in the world!

This product is nothing like it was advertised. It is flimsy and your items have a tendency to fall out. I fille it with my wallet, cell phone, a pen and pencily, and other small items. It's too flimsy to carry even the most simple items. I lost a cross pen out of this purse. Oh, and the zipper broke right away. Too costly to replace. What a waste of money.

This seemed like the ideal solution for carrying all my stuff. I originally ordered from Buxton directly but after a month of waiting for shipping I canceled. I ordered from another company for 12.95 and because it was ordered with other catalog items shipping was free. It was shipped and received with 10 days. I was excited to received the bag until I opened the bag. It looked smaller than the infomercial and I didn't think it would hold everything that it stated it would. It was soft but looked cheap. Well, for 12.95 you can't expect high quality. I put my stuff in it from my old purse and noticed that nothing inside the large sections were secure. Over the course of the next few weeks I realized it was not as functional as presented. To find anything in the large section you had to remove other items. Anything placed in the pouches and credit card section were not secured. If the bag fell over everything fell out onto the floor or wherever you placed the bag. Even though I had a standard sized cell phone it was not secured and often slipped through the little pouch. After 3 months the zipper on the back of the bag broke and to replace it would have the cost more than what I paid for the bag. It was than I realized the poor quality the zippers were. I decided to salvage what I could of the bag by strategically placing Velcro dots on the inside pouches and cell phone pouch to help secure what items I placed inside. The base materials are very cheap. The lining on the inside is thin and cheap. The zippers are a joke. Dollar store quality. I use the metal magnetic clasp gently because I know it's attached to very cheap lining. I can probably get it to last through the summer but I have deterred others who ask to see the bag from purchasing it. This bag cannot tolerate any physical jostling or rough handling. Traveling with it would be at your own risk as the zippers do not stay zipped and someone can easily stick their hand right inside the bag. This is not what I expected from Buxton.

I've only had my buxton bag for a few months and it's already falling apart. I even bought the more expensive one that is suppose to have better quality leather, but that diddn't help. Also, things seem to fall out all the time. I am definately not happy with this product.

I bought this bag because it is relatively small in size but it appeared that it could carry all of my items securely. How wrong I was. First of all the velcro cell phone holder does not securely hold my cell phone. It kept falling out. and the inside part of the bag does not have a zipper, so you have to be very careful or all of your stuff just falls out. there are no slots for any type of cards. and the inside lining is so thin, it ripped within the first week. and the strap cannot be adjusted adequately, therefore, you can not feel secure if you don't hold onto the bag-NO it is not hands free. I have purchased another bag and would NOT recommend buying the buxton bag.

I ordered a red Buxton bag and upgraded to the higher quality leather. It finally arrived and I thought it was well made -- at least mine was. However, when I tried to put all my stuff into it I found it lacking in space. I actually thought it was quite well designed with all kinds of pockets and nooks and crannies. I was terribly disappointed that I couldn't use it so I sent it back and got a refund. However, keep in mind I'm reviewing the upgraded soft calfskin bag and not the standard one. I also didn't actually use it because I have too many items in my purse, so I can't comment on breaking straps or other troubles people seem to have with it.

I purchased the Buxton Bag because we were going on vacation and wanted to be hands free. Well, it is a little small but worked pretty good for everything that I needed to put in it. Brought it to the beach and it was nice as the sand did not stick to it. Then went to NYC an few weeks ago and brought the Buxton Bag there also, great that it freed up my hands to take pictures. I would recommend this product but don't expect it to be too big, but it is useful.

I never thought a product from Buxton would be so horribly manufactured. How in the world does this company stay in business? I wish I had read these other stories before purchasing this purse. In concept, it's great..in reality; when first received it looked as though it had been used before because it had marks on it, my zippers also broke off after having it only a few weeks, and it smelled. Buyer BEWARE! Fool me once, shame on me.

I convinced my husband to purchase this bag for me for mother's day. The second day I used it one of the zippers broke. Within a week the magnetic clasp ripped from the bag. When I called to report what had happened I was offered a replacement bag, but opted to return it for a refund - minus the shipping to and from my house. I guess what I find so disappointing is that Buxton has a wonderful reputation. Just expected more.

I bought this purse for my wife in the middle of April. Here we are at the end of June and the bag is broken. Two zippers broke on it. When I called the company I was told that the bag only had a 30 day warranty. Since it has been longer than 30 days, but no quite 60 days I am out of luck. Do not buy this bag, you are only wasting your money. I wish I would have read the reviews before I bought this piece of crap.

This bag is absolutely HORRID!!! No joke. It was supposed to be a new bag for my moms birthday. Because her other purse was causing her pain. So I bought this bag for her, and it came already opened, the strap was in half and way too short, it smelt HORRIBLE, the stitching wasn't even STITCHING, there were loose strings everywhere. It took a long time to get here then a couple of days. So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't waste your money on this crapola bag. Its NOT worth it. And don't listen to the good reviews. Its NOT true!

my friend purchased one of these. we just went on a trip and she took her bag which she had had about 3 weeks. before the end of our 5 day trip one of the zippers broke and the mesh pockets tore. I had a look at it and, though the leather is soft, it is extremely thin. after seeing the bag I would not consider buying one. definitely not worth any amount of money.

6/22/2008 - Joni of Ohio, USA writes:
The advertisement on TV was very convincing. I needed a bag that would organize better. Delivery took longer than expected. Product arrived in an opened plastic bag. The bag is very cheaply made, smells horrible, and looks like something bought used at a yard sale. Is very small. How disappointing. I threw it away. Please do not waste your money!

Simply put, a novel idea, but not the quality you would expect from Buxton. Leather was more like pleather. Great price, bad quality.

6/20/2008 - Jamie of Arizona , USA writes:
Bought this for my wife, and after 3 days the strap is loose. The leather is so cheap and the bag is put together in a most unprofessional manner with un-even cuts etc. I'll call [] see if I can return it, but don't hold out much hope. Do yourself a favor and DON'T order it!

6/15/2008 - Eden of Ca, USA writes:
I got this bag at [] so at least I didn't pay s&h but it is still a piece of crapola. After a week one seam came apart. Things fall out all the time. It is awkward to carry. it smells like leather and is soft, but poorly made. It doesn't hold a lot of stuff. I took stuff from a smaller purse and filled it so... The big compartment lets everything fall out. I pretty much hate it.

6/13/2008 - Allie of CT, USA writes:
UPDATE: I also thought this bag seemed like a good idea; I tend to carry quite a bit of stuff around. But the lining is very cheap; the various pockets are uneven; the bag has no balance (falls over when set down). The workmanship is shoddy. Certainly this bag does not reflect the quality usually seen with the Buxton name. I'm sorry I wasted my money.

Bought the Buxton bag a few months ago, loved it but today the strap broke and cannot be fixed. I felt it should have lasted longer since I don't carry it every day, only used it about once a week. I would not buy another at that price.

6/7/2008 - Mary of Nova Scotia, Canada writes:
I no longer associate the Buxton name with dependable quality. I was dumb enough to order not just one but two of these bags, spending over $80 by the time shipping and handling costs were added. I would have got equal quality spending $6 at a local Dollarama. Specifically, the bags are made from mismatched pieces of lowest quality leather. Seams are poorly finished, making the bags look worn out when they arrive. The nylon strap looks like you have switched your gym bag strap for your purse strap. I have carried my tan bag for 3 days, and it has been subject to absolutely no abuse but it now looks 3 yrs old. I could almost cry. The top flap is sewn on crooked, so the bottom compartment kind of flops to one side. I am going to be calling their customer service line and will follow-up this review with what they have to say.

After reading all the bad reviews I was scared I made a bad buy. I'm in a wheelchair, and I'm a guy so I was looking for a murse that would allow me to hold all my things like keys, cards, pens, chopsticks, wallet, sunglasses and occasionally a bottle of water without having things fall out and looking bulky. Granted it took a while to get here, but the Fedex Smart post was mostly to blame. It doesn't look cheap, it doesn't smell bad in fact it has a nice leather scent. I bought two.In one of them one of the zippers is stuck and that's mt only complaint. I've experienced nothing like the things others described.Remember, it's not a diaper bag, a backpack, etc. It works for what it was designed for. oh, and it has the Buxton name engraved inside.
