Not bad

4/21/2008 - Ray of SC, USA writes:

This is not a bad product. You will go through many tries to get the plastic to hold but I have found that the hold is pretty good. I use it for buttons on pants & shirts that I wear several times a week and only have to reattach a button every month or so. Needle & thread would hold much better & much longer but when in a hurry I just pop one on and let it ride.

Terrable, NOT like the old Buttoneer of the '70's

3/26/2008 - Sandy of New York, USA writes:

This is the worst of the worst!!! It does nothing right. It puts holes in clothes & the tiny plastic pieces break at every try. The needles are garbage too. The Original Buttoneer of the '70's was GREAT! Totally different than this one. I still have it buttttttt all the plastic pieces dried out & break. The same thing happened when I ordered the old one on Ebay. I just can't win. Don't ever consider buying this. Save your money.

Worthless

1/3/2008 - Neil of Massachusetts, USA writes:

If I could give this product zero stars, I would--- What a piece of CRAP. The fasteners are difficult to load, effective about 5% of the time and fall off with a minimum of stress. The positive reviews must be "shills". I am mechanically adept-- this product SUCKS--nobody should waste their time or money on this garbage gadget--- Truly USELESS

Better than sewing!

2/3/2007 - Ron of Florida, USA writes:

I love this product. When I buy a shirt I buttoneer all of the buttons so I don't have to worry about the buttons ever coming off. Once I use the buttoneer I have never had a button fall off. The trick is to make sure you pierce the fabric fully and hold the fabric tight. Once the nylon straps go in they work like a price tag and hold in place. Make sure the tabs are going all the way through and your button will never come off again. I have even used it to make a quick hem when the seam unraveled.

Great for emergency repair

1/27/2007 - Mike of Alabama, USA writes:

This product is great for an "Emergency Repair", or for something that is not expected to last for very long (like a Halloween Costume). However, I would never use it as a replacement for Needle & Thread. But if you pop a button at work, it can help prevent embarasement until you can get home and do a real repair job.

You'll end up sewing the holes it creates.

12/17/2006 - Sophia of New York, USA writes:

I bought this product because my children wear a uniform to school and the boys are constantly losing buttons. I thought this would help. I wasted nearly an entire strip of plastic fastners trying to get the hang of it. The buttons fell off within a day. The Buttoneer's metal spikes that poke the holes for the fastening strips make big holes in the fabric. If you don't get it right the first time, you're stuck with still having to sew.

Stinks

8/24/2006 - Gail of Florida, USA writes:

I bought this item and it doesn't work at all. I tried practicing but it still didn't work. A needle and thread works faster and the needle on the buttoneer can tear holes in the fabric. Don't waste your money.

LOVE IT!!!

7/15/2006 - Anna of Indiana, USA writes:

Fabulous product. Once I practiced a bit it was a breeze. Several plastic strips were wasted, but the end result was worth it. Now I can put on a button in a snap.
