I bought the Betty Crocker Bake 'N Fill after seeing countless ads on television and thought that it would be a great to way to make interesting desserts. The first thing I tried was an ice cream cake. I read all the directions from start to finish before attempting to use this product. Then I got my ingredients and it worked just like it said. To test the cakes doness, you can stick a toothpick in the small holes on the dome pan but if you aren't using the dome pan then just follow the directions on the cake mix box and its dead on (at least in my oven). Then after letting the cake completely cool..per the instructions...I was able to insert icecream and the cake went together seamlessly. I frosted and decorated the cake and got rave reviews from everyone. I've use it all the time for ice cream cakes, pudding cakes, etc. I'm always getting requests for my filled cakes. This product is easy to use and you will love it! Just make sure you follow ALL instructions and you will have no problems.

I got this product as a gift and the first thing I did was go and bake a cake. I am a huge baker and just love it and the Bake n Fill was Wonderful. I made a lemon cake with lemon pudding filling that was just wonderful. So easy to do too I couldnt believe it. Make sure you read the instructions because you do need two cake mixes and it makes cupcakes with the left over, But my kids loved that part the best, taste testing the cake before the filling part was done. What a fun way to bake.

I recently used this product to make a pudding filled cake. It worked great for me. My oven is not the greatest but my cake came out perfect. My only problem was that one packet of pudding did't quite fill the void. I suggest two packets and just go ahead and eat what won't fit(darn the luck). My dome cover has small vent holes through which I could poke a tooth pick to test the cake. You could probably use those bamboo skewers they use for teriyaki chicken/beef on a stick. Tonight I plan to make a custard-filled cake...what!!! that's not in the instruction book. If you need instructions on how to do everything, then the food you cook probably isn't very imaginative and I won't be accepting any invitaions to dinner. LOL.

This did not do so well for me. I followed the directions exactly. Each time I tried to make an Ice cream cake, The ice cream did not stick to the inside right. Instead it seams like the cake absorbed it, and it would come out of the freezer with less ice cream than I put in it. The ice cream also would melt (even in the freezer). It was a great disapointment for me.

I really expected more from a Better Crocker product. I agree with the Mica. I excitedly followed the directions to the "T" a FEW times in using this. Every time, it burned. You cannot check the progress as it bakes, you have to have faith & a great sense of smell to try & find the perfect inbetween burning & still uncooked. I really wished it worked. But, sorry, it doesn't

I received this product as a gift. I have used it 3 times. Every time I use it, it does not bake evenly. The cake near the dome is slightly underdone and the edges always burned. This may be due to my oven though. The major draw back with this pan is that you cannot check the cake with a toothpick or skewer, you just have to trust the time, which is not always accurate.
