I live in Las Vegas and I purchased this product a year ago. First of all it took almost two months for me to receive it it. When I finally got it, I set it up in my car. It didn't do anything. The fan spun when it was directly in the sun light, but thats about it. My car was still hot as ever. Do not waste your money on this product.
D.I.Y. tip for the people who bought one

I bought 3 of these decorational ornaments, I tried it and it didnt work for me either. One day i was on the computer trying to find out how much air this "hot box" really pushes, I got no results on this item so I decided to pull it apart. from my knowledge of the air flow I noticed the blades are too close together to let sufficient air pass through them, the motor also spins slower because of the extra weight ( he probably got these parts at a yard sale and put them together !) Anyway if your willing to experiment with your decorative piece and have a little D.I.Y. know-how this is what you can do: pull down your auto cool using a small phillips screw driver, be careful with the wiring from the solar panel (solar panel wont shock it only pushes out 1.5 volts (same as a "AA" battery). when you've taken out all 8 screws pull off the fan blade from the motor and slice out 1/4 of an inch out of every-other blade using a utility knife ( be careful, keep fingers away from the blade), Put the fan blade back onto the motor and re-install all 8 screws... try it now! I know it doesnt reduce the heat by 30 degrees but according to my cars internal temp. sensor the original design kept my car approximatly 3 to 5 degrees cooler, the modified design actually doubles that at 8 to 12 degrees . ..from what i've seen on this and other websites, the marketing companies arent giving the refunds on this item .. its a peice of junk that you would probably through out any way.. try it, a 10 degree cooler car is better than a 10 degree hotter car !

A real piece of junk. A total waste of money. Product does not remove any heat from the car. i usually buy products from infomercials and am fairly satisfied with them, but this is JUNK.

Quite frankly, this is the worst piece of junk I've ever wasted money on, and it's the first time my wife and I had ever bought anything from an infomercial. As soon as it arrived I realized something was up: it weights less than a pound and just doesn't appear to be built to do what the commercials imply. We tried it. It doesn't work. At all. We didn't even bother trying different positions, it was painfully obvious that it couldn't possibly work and that the commercials were full of it.

I ordered this product and waited a long time for it to arrive, I thought it was working but needed a little power so I decided to buy more. I have about 3 in each window what makes up to 12 of these solar fans, I couldn't refund my money and it didn't do what was said, I even had 12 going in my car, what a waste of 160$ !!!.

This is one of the most useless pieces of junk I've ever tried. I saw the informercial last year, thought "That's a brilliant idea!" and decided to wait until it was in stores. Bought one locally early in the summer at a national discount chain. It does absolutely nothing unless the solar panels are facing full sunlight. If your windows are facing north or south, you're completely out of luck. I parked in late morning and put the Auto Cool in an east-facing window. Checked it in the afternoon and moved it to the west side of the car. At the end of the day, the car was as hot as any car that's been out in the sun all day. Put your hand right next to it when it's in full sunshine, and you acn scarcely feel anything at all. It just doesn't move air. No "on" switch; no "off" switch; no batteries or capacitors. So it starts running the moment it encounters full sunshine, whether or not you're ready for it, and stops the second it's out of the sun. It wasn't very expensive, but I returned it as a matter of principle. Any store selling this garbage should be informed of what it does to their reputation, and the best way to let them know is by returning it. Pros: It's pretty quiet. But that's to be expected from a device that does so little. Cons: Completely ineffective! I give this one star because the rating system doesn't allow zero. One star, is one more than the Auto Cool deserves.

This item does NOT work unless you hold it up in direct sunlight. Then the fan barely spins, making it truly impossible for it to cool your car. So I have to chalk it up as a piece of junk, therefore getting a very low rating from me. I received my Auto Cool for a birthday present last week. My daughter purchased it at our local drug store (well known chain), So I will be able to return it without the hassle of shipping it back to the company. I was very disappointed that the company did not even put an address or phone number in the packaging in case a consumer had a question. That leads me to believe that they know what kind of useless product they are selling and don't want us to contact them. Very Shady.
Broke shorltly after 30 days

I bought this product the 1st week of June. It broke mid-July (cracked and completely came apart) not to mention it didn't do what the ad promised. Of course there is only a 30-day guarantee.

I bought 2, one for each side window of my pickup. Unfortunately, my windows are pretty straight up and down so the fan blades wouldn't spin even though the vehicle was in direct sunlight. To see if it worked, I had to point the solor panels directly up to get the fans to spin no matter what time of day.

I thought it would be a good idea, my car is normally parked with the afternoon sun on one side so put it there. Also had the other windows openned a little and a windshield shade installed. Normally interior temp. is 140-150 degrees when I get off work with outside temp at 105+ this time of year. Today was no exception. Also noted when I removed the product that it was warped due to the heat and direct sunlight. The solar fan was spinning like crazy though, but it made no difference at all. I would have been satisfied if it at least kept it at ambient air temp.

Auto Cool is one of the few items I have bought due to infomercial. Do not spend your money unless you live at the North Pole. That would be the only way this piece of plastic trash would cool a vehicle.

I purchased the Auto Cool for myself as well as for gifts. Thankfully I tried mine before giving to other family members. What a rip off!! The only time the so called solar panels work is when the sun is on it DIRECTLY.......which is impossible because the sun/earth is constantly moving, so the slightest move and the fan STOPS. The advertisement leads one to believe that it is working continously thus cooling your car -NOT!!!
