Product Description
The Ab Rail infomercial features Lisa Dergan and Dan O'Brien; a former Olympic gold medal decathlete. The Ab Rail is touted as a rapid ab sculting device that utilizes "abdominal sequencing." This technique is supposed to make your last rep as effective as the first. The rail can be tilted to either side to work the oblique muscles. The infomercial clearly shows that the Ab Rail folds up for storage under a bed. The Ab Rail can be tested for $14.95. If you decide to keep the Ab Rail, it will cost 12 additional payments of $29.95. The Ab Rail bench includes a meal plan, workout DVD, fast track guide, and back support pads. i feel that this machine is designed for shorter users. im 6'1" and my arms are too long and bend when i am holding the bar, however this does not interfere with me performing the exercise. i still have the range of motion and it isnt uncomfortable at all. in no way is this product worth the $400 bucks you would cough up if you bought it from the television ad though. i would try and buy a used one or find a less expensive distributor. all in all, with the dvd and diet plan extras im pleased with it and use it to motivate myself if nothing else.

Basically, all this "machine" does is guide your hands in a straight line. It does nothing to support your neck, ensure good form, or work any other muscle groups to make the exercises more efficient. I have neck, back, and tailbone injuries which make me dread abdominal exercises on the floor, but the AbRail does not relieve or prevent any of that pain. You could accomplish the same exercises on a regular weight bench, which would be cheaper and more versatile! There are really only 3 exercises that you can do on this--a crunch, a side crunch, and a circular movement. With slight variations, they become 6 exercises as demonstrated on the DVD. For the money, you could get a machine that offers 60-100 different exercises. That said, it is easy to put together and is made of sturdy materials. Doesn't feel cheap or flimsy, and doesn't seem to have any parts that would break easily.

I recently purchased the Abrail and have been very pleased. It is constructed very well and easy to assemble. Unlike other gimmicks, When used as instructed this product WORKS. Especially when used in conjuction with a whole exercise program and healthy eating habits. I do feel the price point is a little high. I would look for a used unit first before paying full price.

I've been using the product faithfully 5 times a week for two months I sometimes double the workout. I find my neck gets tired. I haven't seen any change in my abs but I do feel stronger in the mid section. If I had to do it all over again I would pass on it. I'll assume it's what you eat that will give you the abs you're looking for without purchasing expensive abs machines.
